They prioritize UK living long-term, that means she may have negotiated significant flexibility or the role has evolved to support it.

In my personal opinion — and this is purely speculation, not a confirmed fact — I think Natalie left Legendary because she wouldn't have been able to work remotely from the UK. Remote work is definitely possible, but living in the UK adds complications, and not every studio is willing to accommodate it. Vertigo, on the other hand, was open to it. The main issue seems to be the massive 8-hour time difference. As Henry mentioned in one of his interviews, Natalie works on LA hours.
