Epic take on the "Alastor accepts Vox's business proposal" AU
Vox and Alastor become partners under a few conditions from Alastor (No more shoulder touching or other creep behavior). They form the AVs together and have a long and successful partnership, but Vox always tells himself that he'll eventually kill Al like he did with all the others.
But the closer they grow, the more Vox keeps putting off killing Alastor. He keeps finding excuses to put it off or comes close, but folds last minute.
One night Vox finally decides to just bite the bullet. Alastor is asleep and completely unaware. He has an angelic blade gifted by Carmilla. He's come up with a cover story about an assassin breaking into the tower and killing Alastor before Vox fought them off. He comes so close to just driving it into Alastor but just....gives up.
He realizes that he's never going to be able to actually kill Alastor. He's in too deep to their relationship. He's gotten too attached to Alastor to hurt him. So he chucks the blade off their balcony and accepts that he's happy sharing the spotlight for once.
And then he's beamed up to Heaven, his personal sin corrected, all while Alastor sleeps peacefully and unaware
Some updates about the AU (still needs a name)
- Vox's redemption in this AU takes place 7 years before canon. It happens right after Lillith leaves and the exterminations are called, but before Alastor dissappears.
- Instead of disappearing, Alastor dedicates 7 years trying to find Vox before eventually giving up shortly before becoming the hotelier. He thinks Vox abandoned him completely and is very bitter in the Season One equivalent as a result
- Husk and Niffty never sold their souls to Alastor here and remain overlords. They're friends with Alastor and were a huge support system for him when Vox disappeared. They still help the hotel on occasion, just not as full time employees
- Valentino died in this AU because the angelic dagger Vox chucked lodged in his skull (good riddance). Angel Dust takes his place as the Porn Overlord and reforms the industry to not be a sex trafficking ring. He's also dating Husk.
- Velvette does not become an overlord here since the current Overlord of Fashion, Niffty, is still in power. She winds up at the Hotel instead as a guest
- The Exorcists are still a thing here. They were originally Heaven's army before being repurposed for killing demons. Vox being a reformed sinner is kept a secret.
- Vaggie never falls, but becomes a spy for Vox so he can keep tabs on Hell. She takes a magic disguise as a moth sinner and joins Charlie in her hotel project in hopes of attracting Alastor's attention
