I told a friend about this phenomenon in literature and he called me weeks later like, I remembered what you said about women doing uncredited work when tim burton came up. he made a string of bangers then everything else just was nowhere near as good. the timeline matches perfectly to when he was with this german visual artist (lena gieseke). he's done some good work in collaboration, but if things were dug into I suspect we would find she did a lot more than people realise.

Our situation has become even more desperate because my father-in-law is battling advanced kidney cancer. His condition is deteriorating rapidly, and he urgently needs life-saving treatment that we cannot afford. Every day, I watch my husband grapple with the pain of seeing his father suffer while trying to provide for our little girl, who deserves so much more than the uncertainty we’re facing.

Hanan is too young to understand the gravity of what’s happening around her, but as her mother, I see how the instability affects her. She needs a safe home, proper nutrition, and the chance to grow up free from fear. Providing for her and ensuring my father-in-law gets the medical care he needs feels like an impossible task, but we are determined to fight for our family’s future.

We are Hadeel and Abdelrahman, two gazan couple who, just like many others, dreamed of building a better life. For years, we poured our hearts and souls into our company, dreaming of a future full of possibility, independence, and success. But in an instant, everything was destroyed.

One phosphorus bomb took it all. Our tent, our belongings, our dreams—all turned to ashes.

But what hurt the most was not the loss of things, but the loss of our future.

While fleeing for our lives, we had to choose between saving our loved ones or saving our work. I chose my sister. And as I ran, I looked back at the burning remnants of everything we had worked for. My heart shattered.
