A joke I've been wanting to make for about a year now, but forgot to start until the last minute.

The Appalachian Mountains are notable for having the world's greatest diversity of tree species in a temperate forest, with over 100 species of tree that make up the forest. They're also a global hotspot of lichen biodiversity.

Fun fact, dozens of genera of plants only have 2 species in them, one found in Appalachia and one found in SE Asia. These are called vicariad species pairs. Eastern Asia and Appalachia has very similar climates, that's why all the major Appalachian invasive species, such as Kudzu, are from eastern Asia

when i was a kid i was obsessed with Facade. the way it's set up (the rainbow decoration & the fact trip directly mentions food with melons in it but will kick you out if you say the word melon? lmfao) & the way it all plays out can be so stupid it's hilarious & easy to make fun of til you're crying from laughter.

but once you're in that deep you probably already know most of the story & ngl it's so deeply compelling. it could have been a A24 movie if it weren't a game. how their names are parallels of each other. the voice actors giving it their all. how it was made & how it was legitimately cutting edge technology for it's time, given out as a free download on the worst graphically designed website you've ever seen, even for the time. how it had an augmented-reality tech exhibit that was just a laptop strapped to the player's back with someone else typing the player's lines as they spoke

the guys who made Petz made it, which is obvious looking at the artstyle but shocked me and continues to shock me as someone who grew up with Petz. are Trip & Grace just hyper-evolved Petz people like how the people in Pokemon are just hyper-evolved Pokemon?
