One of the design principles through every Trigun iteration that I just adore and is brilliant to me is how Vash with his coat on completely hides the fact he is extremely well built under it. His 98 and manga versions may have the big shoulders but you go "oh he's some lanky dude," then Stampgaze he's so swallowed by the coat he looks even smaller.
Then the coat comes off and GOOD LORD
The scars are the least shocking part of these scenes to me, it's the massive fuckin tits

Wolfwood's mouth moves on its own. These words are familiar. He's pretty sure he's never spoken them aloud before.
Vash clings tighter to Wolfwood. Both hands, the nails of his prosthetic digging in a little too hard. Wolfwood would mention it, would complain just to be annoying, but everything is fuzzy and far away, and he's already straining to focus on Vash's face. His eyes, sky-blue and liquid with grief.
Old and new pain. Many pasts and the present. It's always felt like this, between them, but—
"Wolfwood…"
Right. Wolfwood clings back. Smile, he doesn't say. You look better when you smile. He doesn't have the heart to.
Vash, expression so hollowed out, preemptively heartbroken, still does like he knows these lines. Like Wolfwood's script has been pre-written long ago.
The truth is: This doesn't feel like the end. It should be. Wolfwood's bones sing with an ancient-fresh agony, with years and years he hasn't lived, but— He turns his head to the stars. He gazes upwards and watches a rain of paper confetti drenched in starlight, a constellation the universe came up with just for him.
Is it real? Is it imagined? It used to be. It is.
I see how it is. That feeling, this... yearning that's bigger than one lifetime could contain. It's not a figment of a homesick mind, or a pining man's heart. It's them. We were meant to be, weren't we, Vash?
"Yeah", Wolfwood mutters and smiles too. "I'm home." Finally, finally.
So Wolfwood lets go. Lets sleep claim him. He hears Vash choked call of his name, his family scrambling to bring him back from the brink, far too many child-sized hands tugging at his clothes, his brittle silver hair. It's fine, he wants to tell them. He will, once he wakes. I'll be back.
A quiet, stubborn triumph over his fate. Their fate.

I’m so so happy this moment got some love in Stargaze.
It’s such a simple, powerful realization, especially for someone who’s been fighting alone for so long. Both Stargaze and Trimax have Melanie telling him he took on too much alone, like it’s a personal failing, like it could have been avoided, but really, what choice did he have? Who could Nicholas D Wolfwood turn to that could be trusted to stand at his side, stay at his side, and survive there?
Who on that whole miserable planet would be both willing and able to stand with him against the threats he faced?
