As a person who works with teens-- phones don't belong in classrooms.
However, censoring the internet from teens is a fascist overreach designed to control the masses. They saw how social media has been instrumental in interrupting the narratives around several current events worldwide and want to squash future similar movements. oh i definitely agree that its worth removing phones from certain spaces! i'm very into the local music scene and i see restricting phones in classrooms like restricting phones at gigs - things have a time and a place, and phones in a place you're supposed to be paying attention to something else is rude. but banning social media is not the solution.
