Keeping the bosses that correspond cleanly to chess pieces, and assigning shogi pieces to the two bosses that don't, it lines up quite cleanly. Tenna is the "silver screen" and Flowery is quite literally a golden flower, it makes so much sense to call them the silver and gold generals.

This begs the question, what about the unused pieces? So far, the bosses that are direct references to chess come from fountains created by the Knight (or are the Knight), and bosses that are connected to shogi originate from Kris's fountains. Since there are 2 chess pieces remaining, and only 1 piece exclusive to shogi left(excluding promotions), that might mean that there will be 2 more fountains made by the knight, and one more from Kris.

The two chess pieces, Bishop and Pawn, which have to be connected to the knight since they're from chess, immediately remind me of Gaster and the Vessel. It's a cliche at this point to shove Gaster into every theory imaginable, but listen. A Bishop is a position in the Christian church, that has a direct lineage from Saint Paul, who wrote a significant portion of the New Testament. Gaster is heavily implied to be the one narrating the Vessel creation screen and some of the Game Over screens, so it's possible that Gaster is a metaphysical "writer" of sorts. If Gaster is watching the player and writing the narration, then he's performing the Bishops role of overseeing the church perfectly. If we're theorizing that Gaster is connected to Saint Paul, who wrote a lot of the Bible, maybe Gaster is the one who wrote the Prophecy, which is the holy text of the Hometown church.

Also, the sprite most commonly associated with Gaster is shaped like the bishop piece and also has lines across his head that resemble the mitre on the piece. Also also, the two bishops you control in chess either move on light squares or dark squares, and there are also two sprites in Undertales files that could be Gaster, so maybe there will be two Gasters, one for the light world and one for the dark world. Would make sense with the whole "split across space and time thing he has going on.

The Vessel, which is connected to Gaster via the narration, is seen as disposable and interchangeable, which sounds a lot like how pawns are treated in the original game of chess. Not very much information has been given about it besides the intro sequence, but there's been a running theme of things that were thrown away coming back with a vengeance, ala the Thrashing machine and every single secret boss (no, not The Knight, Eram is the thrown away thing in chapter 3.) So it's likely that the Vessel will return in some way. Alternatively, since Kris is under our control, they could be considered "our pawn", but I'm placing my bets on the Vessel.

The final Shogi exclusive piece that hasn't been used. is the LANCE. the motherfucking LANCE. let me repeat. THE LANCE. ARE YOU HEARING THIS. I initially thought this theory I made up on a whim was kinda stupid, but as I looked into it more, the connections became more and more concerning. I mean, seriously, there's a piece in Shogi called the LANCE. Our beautiful bouncing baby pumpkin Lancer might be a future chapter antagonist??????????!? And from a fountain that KRIS IS GONNA MAKE??? concerning. so very concerning.

but it gets worse when you look at the names of the promoted shogi pieces.

The Dragon King and the Dragon Horse. Susie is called the dragon of dragon blazers by Gerson. and you can vote for her as festival king. She's referred to as a hero in the Prophecy, but there's also another Prophecy panel that has the same structure as the panels that refer to Queen, Tenna and Asgore/Flowery, "Love finds its way to the girl." Meaning she might be a boss in the future

and ralsei. I mean ralsei being a horse in Chapter 3 is a really stupid piece of evidence, but please don't laugh. Shogi theory is oddly compelling so far and this is just strengthening it. But the idea of going against Susie, Ralsei and Lancer as a boss fight is terrifying.

There are two possibilities in my mind about how these bosses might show up. One, Vessel shows up in Chapter 6, and Gaster shows up in Chapter 7, while the Shogi tile characters show up in Chapter 7 Side B. Or two, Lancer is the Chapter 6 boss and Vessel and Gaster share Chapter 7, while the promotions, Ralsei and Susie, show up in Side B.

Although, every previous chapter boss was a character that didn't appear beforehand, (counting the Titan as the Chapter 4 boss), so these bosses could all be completely new characters. (but if they're based on shogi tiles I'm still counting that as me being correct.)

That's all I have to say for now, but there are a few things I wanna mention. They aren't evidence but they are interesting. Shogi has a rule where previously captured tiles can be put back onto the board in future turns, so a character that's been defeated in the past might come back for revenge. Possibly Berdly, he was very **determined** to save Noelle from us in the weird route. Berdly the Undying, anyone? Also, Xiangqi, the Chinese equivalent of Shogi, contains a river on the board, and the dark fountains have been referred to as rivers in-game. so perhaps the cannon, elephant, and advisor pieces could also show up.
