Alternatives to Microsoft Word (and Microsoft Office in General)
Here is a list of Programs that work offline and are free and/or freemium.

MobiOffice (Freemium)
Notepad (comes pre-installed on Windows)
ONLYOFFICE (Freemium)
WordPad (comes pre-installed on Windows)
WPS Office (Freemium)
yEdit
Now the reason I'm doing programs as opposed to programs such as Ellipsus, Google Docs, and Word Online is because they require internet access in order to use them. Now, granted, there are ways around using Google Docs offline, but it's rather tedious IMHO. But if you guys want to use them then, by all means, go right ahead. I'm just not particularly fond of them, myself.
Friendly reminder that "This character is crazy, stupid busted." and "This character is well-written." can both co-exist with no problems whatsoever. Do you have to like said character(s)? No, of course not. But that does not give you the right to shit on a person when people, as a whole, have been doing it for centuries on end. So do not apologize or feel bad for making overpowered, well-written OCs.
With that being said, overpowered/well-written female characters can both exist and coincide with overpowered/well-written male characters. So if you tell me that characters like Son Goku and Liu Kang would not be okay with characters like Sailor Moon and Samus existing then you are, without a doubt, 100% full of yourself and lying through your clenched teeth.
Did you know that all fanfics are, BY DEFAULT AND BY DEFINITION, Canon Divergent? Yep. You read that right. All fanfics are 100% Canon Divergent. Now you are probably wondering why I said what I said and I will go into detail down below:
THE ONLY WAY A FANFIC CAN EVEN REMOTELY BE CONSIDERED CANON COMPLIANT IN ANY WAY, SHAPE, OR FORM IS IF IT IS AN OFFICIAL NOVELIZATION OF THE FANDOM, ITSELF, THROUGH A PUBLISHING HOUSE OR SOMETHING LIKE WEBTOON. AN EXAMPLE OF THIS IS X-Men: A Novelization. ANOTHER EXAMPLE OF THIS IS Batman Arkham Knight: The Official Novelization.
Are there going to be minor differences between the X-Men movie and X-Men novel? Probably, yeah. But the novel is still canon compliant because the authors were asked to make a novel version of everything that took place in the film which, by default, makes it Canon Compliant. About the only way it would not be considered "Canon Compliant" - aka CANON DIVERGENT - is if there are so many differences between the two medias to the point where you might as well consider it to be its own thing (such as inconsistencies, AUs, alternate endings, etc.).
Then we have unique cases like Bleach's Thousand-Year Blood War arc being animated and all of that that being canon because Tite Kubo was rushed (as well as having a lot of health issues). So with him helping and getting his hands metaphorically dirty, as well as stating it himself, means that the animated version of the TYBW arc is 100% canon compliant even if there are stuff that did not show up in the manga.
Think of your "Canon Compliant" fanfics as anime filler arcs. The filler arcs are called such because they never happened in the manga. It doesn't matter how in character, say, Ichigo or Kenpachi or Jushiro all were in the Zanpakuto Rebellion arc ... that's all still considered filler because none of it took place in the manga.
Something else everyone need to understand is that we're not all going to have the same exact views on what we consider to be "Canon Compliant" or "Canon Divergent", so to speak. And this does, in fact, include people loving the same exact character. We are not all going to have the same headcanons. And you know what? That's okay! We just all need to come to the harsh realization that, unless stated otherwise, our fanfics are canon divergent by default. Doesn't matter how IN CHARACTER or OUT OF CHARACTER everyone's blorbos are. Mine included.
If you are anti-OCs then you are very much against every canonical character in existence. Son Goku is Akira Toriyama's OC. Ichigo Kurosaki is Tite Kubo's OC. Ash Ketchum is Satoshi Tajiri's OC (and a self-insert). Garrus Vakarian is Mac Walters's OC. Katsuki Bakugo is Kohei Horikoshi's OC. So if you are against OC, then you are 100% against Canonical Characters.
The reason I say this is because, like some OCs you see in fanfics or fan comics, there are Canonical Characters who are very cringe, controversial, cringe, and/or over-the-top. It is not a One Size Fits All with both Canonical Characters and Original Characters alike. Not only that, but not everybody is going to like your Emotional Support Blorbo. There is, in fact, at least one person in existence who hates their guts.
Do horribly written characters exist? Absolutely. Are some characters well-written? Absolutely. Is it okay for people to not like your blorbo? Absolutely. Just please - PLEASE - remember that all characters are Original Characters. The only difference is whether or not they have been published and/or officially copyrighted It is really not that hard to comprehend, guys.

Friendly reminder to please please please write your fanfics + original works in a word document (LibreOffice, OpenOffice, FocusWriter, yEdit2, etc.) and back them up.
DO NOT EVER TYPE OUT YOUR SHIT OUT ON FFN.NET, AO3, TUMBLR, DEVIANTART, PILLOWFORT, ETC. FIRST UNLESS YOU ARE 100% A-OKAY WITH THE POSSIBILITY OF YOU LOSING YOUR WORKS LATER ON DOWN THE ROAD FOR ONE REASON OR ANOTHER.
I kid you know when I say that I have legitimately lost count the number of times people lose their works because of their accounts got terminated or their fanfics got taken down for whatever given reason.
So it is definitely good practice to just write your works out in a word document first to prevent such things from happening to anyone and everyone. Hell, print out a couple of copies each. Write them in a notebook as well. Just make sure you have them saved on your computer, flash drives, hard drives, printed out, in notebooks, and such because it is better to be safe than sorry.
Not only that, but you never know when you will need to edit, alter, fix, or change things for one reason or another later on down the road before posting it online for the world to see. Because it is perfectly normal for our writing styles, ideas, and pretty much everything to evolve overtime.
