These two species are capable of breeding with each other, with two possible outcomes.

The first is the breed I have highlighted previously, named Leafstorm. This occurs from a male Tropius and female Meganium. The ability to shed it’s razor sharp leaves and “throw” them by shaking it’s neck is gained, a characteristic of an adult Tropius. This is a trait that a number of trainers find favorable, as“Leaf Storm” is a powerful attack. The offspring no longer has a flowered collar like a purebred Meganium, but instead has large sharp leaves, and also sprouts fruit from it’s neck in it’s adult stage.

The second outcome is the Synthesis breed, created by a male Meganium and a female Tropius. The newly hatched offspring hosts the antennae of its father, as well as the floral collar instead of a leafy one. The addition of this collar allows the Pokemon to heal itself at an alarming rate by producing and inhaling pollen from the flower.
