Part 3/3 of some samples of my boards from The Owl House “Young Blood, Old Souls” This is basically a deleted scene at this point, because as you can tell they absolutely revamped this WHOLE fight. Which is great. I’m always on board with changes when they improve the story. We hadn’t even fully figured out the environment when we had first set about boarding this, so it was just a cavernous room. I’m so happy they went with that creepy space that was like alive. But I’m still content with what I made for it even though I definitely need to get better at action sequences. But yeah, this is all basically fanart at this point since it didn’t make it in. haha PLEASE DO NOT REPOST.

Bispearl is super duper cute.


As always, making a show is a herculean effort of different people coming together to create something great. Dana is an amazing showrunner with a very strong vision who’s able to really wrangle all the disparate elements of our boards into a cohesive final product (she thought up the acting of Amity gripping her dress sheepishly… ah so good). My director, Stu Livingston, helped a ton to strengthen my boards; he thought up the Amity pulling Luz close for the dance after I had the close up shot of the hands and boy was he right! It was so fun to draw. And I am beyond honored that Spencer Wan took over the dance sequence in order to make it so spectacular; his talent is utterly amazing. I’m just so lucky to be able to learn from all these super talented people. I’m glad to be able to play a small part in this wonderful show. This episode was a joy to make, and I just love drawing these characters. :) Originally, The Grom monster was going to take on a form that looked like Luz when it read Amity’s fears, but I’m super happy with all the writing changes and revisions that it went through in this scene to make it a lot more vague and keep Luz guessing. Who could Amity like? haha Really enjoyed working with Amity throughout this scene. :)

Part 1/3 of some samples of my boards from The Owl House “Enchanting Grom Fright” YES! Grom finally aired! This has been one of my favorite episodes to board on thus far. I’m honored to have been able to play a part. :) The forest scene was especially close to my heart because I got to really go at it with the lighting and the mood, and the fun mud action haha I just love Luz and Amity; they’re so fun to draw. Originally, we had a smaller critter crawl on Luz and then I had it fly into the light above Amity and fizzle out, so that last board never made it into the show, but I enjoy how I drew Amity in it. :) PLEASE DO NOT REPOST!
