Link to the AO3 collection So, when @fictionissocialinquiry laid out this challenge, it was mainly for writers; but she included some extra prompts therein, and one was a line from Hozier’s “Shrike”.

I couldn't whisper when you needed it shouted This led me to listen to “Shrike” on repeat while I feverishly started doodling the thumbnails for the animatic I got in my head (so I hope that some of that emotion from Hozier’s amazing song comes through in the final board, ‘cause I listened to it. A. Lot.). While I think it’s a bit easier for drawings to express “I love you” without any words needed at all. I wanted to try and approach the task by thinking of ways one can confess that they love someone through acts of service and tenderness versus super obvious displays of love, I guess. It came out with a sort of courtly love-ish vibe that I really ended up liking. (Though I suppose reciprocation makes it not courtly love ANYWHO…)

I’m in an Ambassador Katara/Fire Lord Zuko state of mind! I just love any love story with them in these roles. There are so many different ways to play with the set up of them as Ambassador and Fire Lord. In this one, I kind of picture that they haven’t gotten together yet (this is divergent from whatever I did in the Reunion animatics; this is it’s own thing). Perhaps they are on the precipice of realizing they want to be together... I don’t know; it’s open to interpretation. XD but what I hope I portrayed clearly is how one can show that they love another. u.u

The joy I got to just go ham on the pictures in Willow’s scrapbook radiated off me haha, I felt like even if only one of my doodle ideas made it through, I’d be so happy! To my surprise a fair amount made it in! Like, even my little Hocus Pocus reference haha And it didn’t make it into the final version, but I TRIED to justify the milkshake date and Luz’s lactose intolerance. When I made that fanart I didn’t know she was lactose intolerant, guys! Give me a break ToT so let’s just assume they’re soy milkshakes or something vegan. lol

I wish I had the energy to export the tracking shot through the window of Luz exiting the house and then panning up to the sky as a gif, but postpartum is kicking my butt and my computer is chugging trying to do it, so some stills it is! ToT I was pretty proud of the movement of that shot though and so honored it stayed in to the final version basically!  Then I had one more sequence this episode where they discover the secret map! So fun to get to do work with Human vee and the kids in their casual clothes. n.n

It was SUCH an honor to get to do the opening montage of season 3. I couldn’t believe I got to do one of the first passes at summing up the summer happenings with the Owl House gang. I love these characters especially getting to do shippy stuff with them (even if it’s highly interpretable XD) It’s like my dream. I’m a shipper fanartist at heart. lol

Zutara Week 2022 Day 1: Tradition

Unfortunately this is the only prompt I was able to get done this year. I really wish I had been able to do them all (it’s tragic because I even have some roughs for mini animatics for almost every day ToT who knows maybe I’ll finish them one of these days), but alas I ran out of time and energy just getting off of a project and being in my 9th month of pregnancy. But hey wouldn’t it be fun if my baby was born during this year’s Zutara Week. lol Anywho, just a very short little mini-animatic for this prompt.

Dedicated to the ZDAS, you all are still very much in my thoughts. n.n

Wah, my last episode of season 2 I worked on (except for some very minor clean up I helped with on a tiny part of the finale which was an honor to get to clean up Bo’s roughs etc). Heartbreaking to have to do a chunk of the Luz and Eda turmoil. ToT

The lighting was manifested by Dana. I hadn’t thought to do it because this was supposedly underground and as a simpleton, was like “where would the light be coming from even” but this is why I love to work for amazing people because Dana always has such great ideas that just push your work to the next level!
