so as my Aemond x OC fic is almost done (the first chapter is up) and I haven't thought of anything for Daemon yet, I propose the following:
Elio's Super Epic Introductory Post To His HOTD Modern AU
note: this will, indeed, involve my OCs
first, here are some quick modern AU sketches (update: added Aemond and Lucian)
NOW here are some THOUGHTS about this modern AU:
Viserys is the ex CEO of some big corporation, which he passed down to Rhaenyra
Alicent and Rhaenyra ARE friends, thank you very much
Aegon was promised a position at the company but he has one year of uni left and genuinely could not care less for the stupid fucking company all he cares about is his post punk band
Lucian, Jace and Helaena are in the band
Aegon and Lucian founded the band, Jace and Helaena joined in
Lucian is the lead vocalist, Aegon is the drummer, Helaena is the lead guitarist and Jace is the bassist
the Lannisters and the Targaryens are family friends so Aegon, Lucian, Lancel, Jace, Aemond, Helaena and Luke basically grew up together
however in the manner of all older siblings, Aegon, Jace, Lancel and Helaena mostly excluded the younger ones, Lucian being the exception, because he was closer to them in age than Aemond and Luke
as it happened, through these dynamics, two crushes developed: Aegon started crushing on Lancel who was nothing like him, and Aemond started crushing on his older brother's best friend, Lucian
all of them go to the same prestigious university, save for Luke who is still in high school
now the band is actually quite successful and the band members are something like celebrities (which does NTOHING to help Aemond's crush on Lucian oh god) (as for Lancel he's just PRETENDING not to care about any of it he actually thinkg Aegon is very cool)
Aegon being Aegon and Lucian being somewhat of a neglected child, the two girlboss a little too hard and end up exchanging alcohol for drugs
Aegon copes with the lack of attention from Lancel by being an utter fuckboy, meanwhile Lancel just thinks Aegon is out of his league and he's only disguising his true feelings as being "disgusted" by Aegon and his way of life; angst ensues
Aemond kinda goes through a yassification by the beginning of uni because he's trying really hard to get Lucian's attention but plot twist he's had his attention the entire time
Aegon DEFINITELY has a dragon tattoo (I added it to the drawing but I'll make that update later)
Daemon is the cool uncle that puts Aegon and Lucian up when they get piss drunk so that Aegon's mom and Lucian's brother won't have to deal with their drunk and hungover asses (Aegon lives with his family, Lucian and Lancel moved from France so the two live together)
and idk that's it for now, I'll update this as I go, I just needed to put my thoughts somewhere
like I genuinely have no idea for an actual plot just these ideas and pure Vibes™
