This is by far the best, most beautifully designed and curated exhibit (in the most horrific way) I have ever seen. What a museum! It is called The House of Terror. And rightly so. It truly IS ‘a house of full of terror’. This place transports you to the world of wars - what it really was and how it affected people's lives. The exhibit is so powerful that it scares the bejesus out of you. It makes you think about all the atrocities that humans went though in that day and age. The exhibit starts at the second floor and you are supposed to come down in circles. There are many parts of the exhibit that stay with the visitor for long. One of them in particular is an elevator that takes you down to the basement (which is really slow!)- it has a screen which plays a documentary explaining how the prisoners of war were executed. As soon as one comes out of the elevator, they get to experience the exact replica of the prison cells and the execution room that were used during the Nazi/ Soviet regime- one of them being an isolation cell, which was so small that the prisoner could barely stand straight - without any movement. Makes your skin crawl. How could man do this to another man? Pure horror. Very dark.
