Three different versions of Jerry Robinson’s cover for Detective Comics #68 (1942), Two-Face's first cover appearance, with focus on details. The first is a scan of the original cover via Heritage Auctions, the second is from the Batman Arkham: Two-Face collection from 2015, and the third is from Batman: The Golden Age vol 4 (2018).
I recall recently learning about the shoddy way DC used to treat its archival material, but while I don’t recall the details, the second set really shows how poorly they preserved the original artwork. The version from just three years later is a marked improvement, but personally, I think current recolorings and remasters lack some vital aspects of the original newsstand versions.
