Like, normal Wukong meets Emperor Wukong, who would absolutely be a cruel little shit because he didn't get that character development, and there's immediate hands thrown, nobody is very happy with the existence of at least one person/au and it's hilarious to think about them trying to at least be civil.
Also read some fanfics, and specifically Sunbreak by LadyGreenFrisbee(idk if you have seen this fic it's so GOOD tho), and now I'm thinking about how you'd go about a scenario like that, Macaque freshly revived and soon after finding MK's egg, witnesses his hatching with the wind aiding during an eclipse, and MK looks so much like Macaque in appearance arguably yet is so similar to Wukong, and yeah now Macaque is a dad cause kid is clearly his and the universe itself clearly wanted him at least to see this, it's very silly to think about cause your interpretations of the characters are wonderfully different from others I've seen so I can only imagine what would end up happening for you!
Small lil addon for the third paragraph, I would like DBK to meet MK as a baby cause that'd be fucking HILARIOUS, but Redson would have the Samadhi fire still at that time so that'll also be fun hehehehehehe, that's all, I love seeing and reading your works and ideas and it's been a While since I last said anything here so hi! Hello!! 😊 I'm so glad you've had fun exploring the old asks on my blog- I do my best to tag them so they're easier to find, but there are sooo many of them that it can get overwhelming.
Yeah, the Battle Nexus is a really fun one. I originally kept it to MK, Mei, and Red Son just because they were my favorites and I kind of wanted to keep it smaller and managable. As you've said, there are a lot of different interpretations of ALL the characters, and I feel like Sun Wukong and Macaque have a huge portion of those. If I had included them from the beginning then it would have become the Shadowpeach show instead! Not that I don't like those two, but Spicynoodles and Chimera are my preferred ships.
I did have some conversations with people awhile back about there being "seasons" to the Battle Nexus, as in several storytelling arcs. It could be fun if one of the later seasons, Jin and Yin figure out a way to open the Nexus up to new characters, too. You know Wukong and Macaque would need an entire season just going through them and their variants and their absolute mountains of drama, after all 😂
As for your question about Macaque, I do really like stories and plots that have him in a Dad role in some ways. It's fun to play with the idea of him wanting to look out for MK or Mei or even Bai He sometimes. I haven't seen that particular one you've mentioned, but my own personal interpretation of Macaque finding a baby MK would probably lean a little darker than how that probably goes. Personally, I like to play into Macaque's villainous tendencies a little more. Especially if it's meant to be set before season 3 of canon where he comes around to MK fully. If I were writing that story, he would take MK, raise him as his own, and then use him as a weapon against Sun Wukong later on... of course he'd grow attached and view him as his son and all along the way, but he's not likely to admit that to either MK or himself lol
Oh, and yeah, if Macaque found MK and took him then he could totally be raised adjacent to a little Red Boy who's got Samadhi Fire and stuff. Love that 🥰
