sam’s been a fan of tyler childers for as long as he can remember, so when misa asked him what his favourite song is to add it to their driving playlist, sam’s ears perked up like the husky he is. he goes on this massive ramble about how much all the songs mean to him and tyler himself and by the time he’s done misa is staring at him with massive heart eyes and this Grin on his face

he doesn’t even remember the initial question but answered ‘oneida’ when misa asks him again. sam then insists on taking misa down to the lake with a speaker and playing all his favourites so he gets the full experience. you best believe sam treats his music like a religion

he’s humming the words and ends up putting it on repeat until misa starts to memorise it all. sam sort of tugs him up from the rock they’re sat on and grabs his waist and starts to spin all slow while he murmurs the lyrics into his ear. mis doesn’t know whether he should be hard or in love by then but he’s pretty sure he’ll have experienced both bt the end of the day

sam pulls him especially close when the chorus hits and kisses along his neck as he’s muttering and humming over the instrumental. he then plays all his other favourites and doesn’t take his eyes off mis yo make sure he’s enjoying himself

Day 69

they’ll be kissing eachother and then misa will just yank sam’s hair back and go ‘yo. what did i say we are not fucking with ur stupid ass family guy shirt on’ and sam would groan dramatically while he throws his shirt off. and then misa would grin like a little shit cause his hair looks unflattering as hell and they’d kiss some more. but there’s no hard feelings about it, there’s no romantic ‘taking the shirt off for the other person gesture and sparkles on their eyes’, just two dudes who wanna bang. and it’s that simple sometimes.

or they’ll be playing modern warfare on the couch, misa would get pissed off and throw the controller at sam’s chest, and then the game is paused and they’re wrestling. hes shoving his fingers in his mouth making immature sex jokes, they’re shoving eachother down to the floor trying to get on top to put eachother in a chokehold, mockingly telling eachother ‘gooood boy’ whenever they start to lose. oh whoops now they’re wrestling on the couch with no clothes. how did that happen

or car sex, where they’re just laughing at eachother cause they keep ending up in awkward positions. how they always have to duck their heads to weird angles and sam is absolutely fucking making fun of misa’s chin at this angle. but they still do indeed bang. and all is well and they’re trying to do their pants up again but the playlist auto played something dumb so they’re shitting themselves laughing at it. and it’s all causal and light and horny so they don’t gaf.

lunch that ends with will giving mack a tour of one of the homes in dorchester just to… give him an idea of potential homes

a tour that ends with mack down on his knees to scope out the oven while will clutches his clipboard over his crotch in a sad attempt at hiding his unwanted boner. the sight of mack looking up at him and licking his lips is too much to handle and he’s bolting to the bathroom instead

a bathroom trip that ends with will jerking off into the bowl trying to get the image of mack’s pretty face out of his head. he comes out a few minutes later, suddenly thankful he lasted as long as he did as a horny teenager

mack’s still examining the kitchen and muttering to himself about the stove being electric before he turns to will, “you’re so pink, are you okay??”

will just combusts and makes up something about a fever and needing to go home. he drops a very concerned mack off at their lunch spot who wishes him a get well soon and texts will an hour later asking if he needs anything

he’s been working there for quite a while now. it’s an easy job to pick up in the afternoons once he’s done at BU for the day. he welcomes all the new patients, helps them settle in for their first few weeks

a new couple moves in; the smiths. they’ve got a daughter mack spoke to in brief on move in day and assumes she’s an only child to the pair

he’s on shift a few days later when a new visitor walks in. perfect hair, gorgeous eyes, a kind smile when he introduces himself to mack as colleen’s son in room 33 down the hall

mack is enamoured in an instant, stumbling over his words while he walks will to their room and when he waves goodbye two hours later. he finds out will is a student at BC and they banter about who’s better at hockey, realising they both used to play but had a mean time with unfortunate injuries

once he’s gone, fraser (who works in the kitchen and makes the best lemon drizzle cake) pokes fun at mack while he tries to plan out getting will’s instagram without seeming like a creep

connor skips a day of training once in a blue moon. he basically lives on the ice, so the second he’s absent, most just assume it’s the flu or family stuff or something bad enough to restrain him from his one true love the ice rink. connor would never tell them it’s because his mind is so busy with anxiety and intrusive thoughts that he can’t bring himself to actually skate after the puck

the only person he tells after his sister drags him to get a diagnosis is fraser. fraser who’s been by his side his whole life. fraser who doesn’t ask questions when connor asks him to do repeat certain things 2-3 times that would make most cringe away from out of confusion. fraser who gets him

he has a rough patch for a bit. no sleep, dropping out of the academy, deciding against college level hockey (not that that would be an issue, the blackhawks love him). he just needs some time alone. with fraser. duh

the anxiety gets worse before it gets better. he wakes up in the middle of the night with paranoia and compulsions just to turn to his left to see fraser sleeping peacefully enough to soothe him. he thinks through the same advice his therapist gave him until he believes it, shifts closer to fraser’s warm body and buries his face in his neck, breathing him in

anyway, listen. i’m all here for the while opposites attract narrative, but. there’s something so beautiful about two guys who have led what is, essentially, the same career.

for some background info, our buddy joseph over here joined the usntdp in 2014-15, followed by an admission to boston college in 2016-17 until the 2018-19 season where his bouncing between the marlies and the leafs began. during his time at bc, he studied business and was an absolute nerd about it. he’s mentioned a few times that he was very disappointed to not be able to finish his degree (bless him)

and spencer? usntdp rookie in 2017-18, playing for the usa u18 team the same year joseph was playing for the usa u20 team. bc freshman in 2019-20, missing joseph by literally a few months just to follow in his footsteps and study business too!! then his bouncing between the panthers and the checkers began 2020-21. spencer used to study for exams the second he got home from games, too. i love him.

i also love the idea of spencer seeing a guy just like him a few steps ahead. a fellow goalie, a fellow american, an avid speaker about mental health, a family in real estate, on the usntdp and miles from home. this was basically his twin!! kinda!!!!

maybe spencer doesn’t just admire him. that was normal, right???? guys could get bricked at the thought of their idols… right……. yeah! it’s fine. totally fine. totally normal to try get the same dorm that joseph had after he leaves. yep. just to uh… replicate the mentality. no ulterior motives whatsoever.

joseph will shoot spencer a text every now and then to check in on him too, ‘cause why wouldn’t he? and of course he’s there when spencer gets his diagnosis. and of course he’s there to soothe him whenever his mind takes off on its own little tangent and is thousands of light years away from earth. and of course spencer has to return the favour. in his bed. with joseph’s dick in his mouth. it’s nothing, really! spencer is just showing his gratitude :3

i love a good age gap. i do have more thoughts but they’re catalogued into an au i might be working on so ill save those and see how well this does for the time being!
