things i would change about s3 of heartbreak high
while i dearly love this show and enjoyed the final season here’re a few things i would change if i could
no taz. her character was okay but was she really necessary for anything besides providing us with more information about woodsy? i would give her screen time to the characters we already know and love, tyvm
make zoë part of the core friend group! i really enjoyed her getting closer with darren and spider, and thought she deserved a place in the main group scenes
not making sasha the villain. at the end of season 2 her and quinni investigating the bird psycho situation made me hope they would become a detective duo in season 3. i wish that’s what would’ve happened. i wish sasha was still in the friend group instead of everyone bullying her (which btw shouldn’t they all have outgrown that kind of mentality their final year of school?). sasha and quinni investigating the carnival accident together would’ve been perfect. and we could still have sasha apologizing for acting holier than thou and admitting she’s actually insecure.
given sasha’s not the one who pushes the button, i’m not sure who i would make the villain this season for it to be satisfying enough. the st. bruno boys? no one so it’s just a malfunction? idk
missy and spider end up together. i’m not a huge spider&missy shipper but they were cute and ’m kinda confused why they had to break up. they weren’t exactly holding each other back, felt like the break up was unnecessary story wise and they just needed to TALK it out.
amerie doesn’t have a boyfriend. instead her and noah are just hooking up, kinda romeo&juliet style because of their schools’ rivalry. and when malakai comes back it all goes out the window and we have more time for amerie and malakai to come back together.
more parents involved! i’m sad we didn’t see darren’s dad, and quinni’s fathers, amerie’s mom, etc. glad that nan was her glorious self still!
maybe have one compelling wlw relationship? after quinni and sasha tanked, we didn’t get one cool wlw romance. i’m sorry but quinni and taz weren’t interesting. at this point i would be on board with quinni and sasha getting back together (given sasha realizes the error of her ways).
darren and cash were perfect. no notes!
more dusty! i know they probably couldn’t get the actor for more scenes but i wish the group would go to him for information during the investigation of the the muck up day incident and he could give them more insight on the st bruno's boys.
more scenes with ant and harper! i can accept they didn’t get together but they became such good friends in season 2, i wish we could see more of their friendship.
could we get a little bit about malakai’s goals for the future? maybe i missed it but what does he want to do in life besides be with amerie.
oh and also, why didn’t we hear malakai’s letter?! i think it would’ve been much more impactful and romantic if we actually heard the words he said to her! given it’s been two years since we saw season 2 and we barely got a glimpse at the letter back then.
all of that said, i loved season 3 and i think it’s a deserving last season for the show 🩷 i will forever miss heartbreak high 💔
