âHas been so long time since been on Earths âgain!!â
Waddling in their new snow suit, they only stop when they reach Alastor and then they grin wide.
âHaven never seened snow before either!! Is cold! Also taste like waters!â
They awkwardly lick away the stray snow flakes on their cheek, then giggle.
âWhat want do now Cuddlefishy??â
âItâs been a while since I visited as well, I must say.â Alastor responded with a light hum, having opted for a disguise illusion that made it look as though he was wearing a reindeer headband.
Peering at Haven as they approached, he couldnât help a fond chuckle, reaching out to poke their snow suit lightly as he grinned back. âHave you not? Oh, it is water, just frozen. Quite remarkable, isnât it?â
What did he want to do? A good question - and naturally, his first impulse was fun. âWhy donât we make some snowballs?â
âItâs not how you were forged, but who you know.â

So be it! And nothing comes without a cost of some kind.
Iâm sure it was fine practice! Goodness, some days I think the entire Goetia family is made up of pure liars. Nigh on a century ago Dantalion said something to me Iâve never been able to shake sinceâamongst the nobles known to humanity, some have reputations for dishonesty and some donât; but of the ones that donât, does that mean theyâre honest, or just that theyâre better liars?
An interesting comparison! If someone were to cut off your head, would you grow two more? Ha! No, Iâm sure not. Strange, thoughâthat three versions in the same person, presumably sticking together and going through the same afterlife together, can develop into three different people. How does that happenâcompensating for each otherâs weaknesses? Naturally filling the roles in some subconscious psychic archetype for a trinity? Iâm no alienist, I have no idea.
No such thing as a truly free lunch, as they say.
Hmm, Iâd have to say it would depend on the liars in question. Some revel in letting you know theyâll lie to your face, make it a game of sorts wherein you only get your answers if youâre able to work them out from what nonsense youâre told. Others may well find sport in more subtle deception. I suppose itâs a good rule of thumb to not take anything they say at entirely face value anyhow.
To tell you the truth, weâve not fully puzzled it all out ourselves. It doesnât seem as though Hell is the deciding factor, as Lombraj was with me prior to death, while I only had Jack afterwards. Whateverâs going on with that, weâve somewhat settled on considering ourselves to be at least vaguely similar to particularly late to split triplets.
On another note, I must admit to some curiosity. How have dynamics shifted between you and folks who may have held some rivalry for you in the past? For instance, Vox? Or did you not have such a dynamic in the first place?

@puckishperyton cont. from here
A hand immediately glides up Alastorâs form in order to rest against his chest. Then as they felt his arm wrap around them, followed by his question, the siren suddenly smiled and gave a nod.
âYes pleases.â
With that, Haven shifts until theyâre sitting in his lap. Then they wrap their arms around his middle and give a coo as they kiss his cheek.

âYes pleases.â
With that, Haven shifts until theyâre sitting in his lap. Then they wrap their arms around his middle and give a coo as they kiss his cheek.
A soft croon greeted Havenâs actions, alongside a soft fabric and fluff thwip-thwipping sound coming from just behind him.
âBe my guest~â
Holding them close as they sat in his lap, Alastor couldnât deny that the warmth of them was somehow soothing. He wasnât entirely sure how to say that aloud in a way that didnât sound awkward, but perhaps he didnât need to. âHow have you been, cher?â
Fishy is here and is soon plopped down right beside Alastor. Then as they pressed up against him, they rubbed their face against his shoulder and began to purr lovingly.
âMy CuddlefishyâŚâ
A fond smile spread across his features, Alastor gently wrapped an arm around the purring fishy as his shoulder was nuzzled. "That I am, my dear, that I am." He murmured, not entirely sure what had prompted the affection, but no less glad to receive it. "Would you like to stay and cuddle awhile?"
âSomeoneâs being a tad over anticipatory. Seems a tad... tacky.â
Heâs discovered the Shia Labeouf song
âWhy look respectfully or disrespectfully when you can stare in an unsettling manner instead?â

Sleepy fish is just gonna slowly approach Alastor in order to rest their head against him and give some contented purrs.
âHi hi cuddlefishyâŚâ
More purring, then they finally wrap their arms loosely around his form and hide their face against his neck lovingly.
âCan come do snugs withâŚ?â
An adorable sight met Alastor's eyes as Haven approached, his ears perking as he beheld them.
"Hello, darlin', how have you been?"
Those purrs were both unmistakeable and endearing, a welcome sign of Haven's happiness. Leaning his face in to give them a little nuzzle, a croon escaped his own throat as he felt arms wrapping around him and a face pressed snugly into his neck.
"I would be delighted to - where, right here, or somewhere else?" If Haven wanted, he could perhaps carry them somewhere cosy, but here would do just fine as well.

Another dead end⌠great. If the redhead was not mildly concerned before, she certainly was now. Â
âMadds said she was heading âdownstairsâ on a quick errand, which was three days ago. Now, itâs no secret that my sis and I have different definitions on what constitutes as a âquick errand,â but she hasnât picked up any of my calls. I guess I was hoping that was because she was resting at the Hotel or something.â Â
Bouncing her knee, she rattled her brain to think of any other places Maddie would visit down there. Couldnât hurt to ask.  âDo you know if Maddie visits any other areas of Hell, over?â
Alright, that was kind of concerning, he had to admit. Maddie was a formidable entity, and one heâd assume could look after herself, but Alastor knew all too well that one could never assume safety in Hell.
âAh - I can understand your concern, under the circumstances.` He responded, after a moment of static crackling. âI do recall showing her a bookstore, itâs not impossible she might have decided to venture back there, or to other similar establishments. Thatâs a bit of a narrow focus, Iâll admit, but she did seem interested in learning more about the place. Thing is, I donât know if sheâs able to reach other rings, not technically being a sinner demon. If she is and has gone that far, I physically cannot follow, I would have to talk to a contact.â
infernal-feminaeâ:
âYeah, I do.â Two replied, rummaging in her bag she brought along with her and fished out a small rectangular device. She doubted sheâd get in trouble for showing a fellow investigator her device, even if he was working independently. âThis little guy will be able to get a reading on the place.â She explained, walking over to where Alastor was inspecting the claw marks.
Her eyes widened behind her shades upon seeing the marks up close. It looks animalistic, but he was right that no normal animal could have made those marks. âShit, youâre right.â She breathed, running her index fingers along one of the claw marks. âThink some type of cryptid left these marks?â If that was the case, sheâd have to try and get a DNA sample, and send it over to the respective department to see if they could get a match.
âOh, how useful!â It did indeed sound like a helpful sort of device, and he had to admit, he had a fair bit of curiosity about how it worked, as he peered at it. âHow broadly and how narrowly can it focus? Are there any settings specific to any class of entity?â Perhaps if he encountered any others of this organisation in another guise, he could steal one.
Oh, it was entertaining to watch her reaction to seeing the claw marks - and quite satisfying too, he had to say. It was like a round of applause, in its own way. âI would be surprised if it were a mundane creature - and these are too deep for it to be some human wearing claw things on their fingers.â He responded, with a little hum. âThese could have caused serious damage - but they havenât. Interesting, wouldnât you say? Oh - and look, by your feet - tracks!â Not just any tracks either, but hoof prints heâd left intentionally.
strikers-saloonâ:
Striker didnât say much when he saw clearly more than the bill being placed on the table, and before he could ask if it were a tip, his eyes had focused on the blank disk that changed before him. Picking it up with his claws, heâd examine it and read the words silently.
âAh recon this isâŚum, what is this?â Heâd not want to assume anything, but favoring that their interactions so far had been positive, this would perhaps be a coin for proof of some kind, though he would not go so far that heâd gotten the goodwill of the Radio Demon simply by having a relatively decent chat and given him a discount, he kept his gentlemanlike attitude and pleasant demeanor intact.
Heâd drop the coin into his palm, evidently not burning hot, meanwhile the other hand scooping up the coins for the bill and dropping them into a till heâd open, automation and multitasking were something he were thankful for as working in a bar had made him learn very quickly. Looking up at Alastor heâd try for a curious expression as he hoped for an answer.
Watching as Striker took hold of the token, Alastor wasnât surprised that he was confused. After all, it wasnât as though he had rambled about these on the radio. âOh, itâs a token attuned to my magic.â He responded breezily, with an idle wave of one hand. âThe purpose is inscribed on it - against rampage.â Perhaps he ought to be more clear, he needed to get his thoughts into some sort of order.
âTo be more specific, itâs a safety measure. While most of the time Iâm fairly compos mentis, that isnât always the case.â He elaborated, offering a slightly embarrassed smile. âI donât want to come âround from an insensible rampage to find that Iâve destroyed somewhere Iâve found to be pleasant, so I spent a while on working out how to create something to direct my less composed self away from certain locations.â
It wasnât perfect, nothing was really, but it was something that had been working reasonably well thus far. âIt doesnât really need any careful minding to do its job, it just needs to be somewhere on location. While I would hope Iâm not likely to have another incident in the near future, itâs better to plan ahead, isnât it?â
concubuckâ:
Wellâcan I say I felt a call for it? Certainly not to become a succubus
specifically
, per se; but I felt the draw of the opportunities it opens up. Thereâs a whole wild world I couldnât reach and only one narrow path that leads to it, and for me, access to that world is worth the cost of walking that path.
Thatâs the trouble, isnât it? With rare exceptions one never quite can be sure of a high-ranked demonâs motivations. Even when they are completely clear about their intentions, what they think theyâre offering and what it actually means to a human can be far apart. But thereâs certainly far worse he could do than a few pranks! Iâd consider it a fair exchange, as well! Having a seat in the royal throne room is worth putting on a jester hat.
So, the sentient personifications of your superego and id, are they? Thereâs something to be said for always having someone you can talk to! I donât think I could stand having parts of me that might decide not to do what I want to doâbut then I canât even stand it when I donât want to do what I want to do, hah!
They do say that itâs best to grasp opportunity when it presents itself, rather than letting it lie fallow, I can certainly understand that. Not as though something so valuable wouldnât have a significant price attached, in any case. If the goal is worth the price, so be it.
Haha, oh, very true! For that matter, it can complicate things even further if they delight in being deceptive or obfuscating. I know Furfur does, took me a fair while just to get used to him enough to have a semi-clear grasp on when heâs pulling my leg and approximately how. Good practise for dealing with someone less friendly doing such though, and youâve fair point about the benefit to entertaining royalty.
I suppose they were, to an extent. I think theyâve grown some since they first began to be, well, them. Oh - it can be a bit inconvenient if disagreement crops up, I must admit, but thereâs tradeoffs with everything, and in this case? I personally feel itâs well worthwhile, even with the possibility that the other two may occasionally attempt to overrule me on something. Consider the hydra, for example - not a precise correlation, but like such a creature, thereâs more to contend with than just the one head, as it were.

His sounds were such a delight to hear. It was like music to her ears. It made her want to hear even more of them. She gave a grin as he agreed to the position and she pulled away, crawling onto the bed after removing her underwear and bra, giving her rear a teasing wiggle at him, smirking over her shoulder.
âReady when you are~â

That, and he doesnât want his guilt complex to further drive the chances of his Messiah complex to re-emerge completely.
âFor now, I want answers, see if the cause was something on Earth or⌠You know, up there with spiritual forces⌠Either answer will help me in my research for a cure.â He gave a deep sigh.
âCome on, we should resume what we weâre out here for, this discussion can continue in the hotel.â
âThatâs understandable... but if anything, this discussion itself means that youâre improving on that score.â Alastor responded with a slight tilt of his head as he peered back at Don, hoping that his encouragement might help at least slightly as well.
Was there any more he could do in that regard, or was it better to simply allow things to proceed at their own pace? âIf you wind up with any cause to think I could help in a way youâre alright with, feel free to let me know.â He murmured, hoping that covered things adequately.
Oh - whether it was his state or simply how involved heâd become in the conversation, Alastor had quite forgotten what they were doing - embarrassing, really. âAh, right - I do apologise, I became somewhat distracted.â
