We joke but the fact NO ONE bats an eye when Penelope and Colin are unchaperoned in broad daylight, or the way they keep to themselves in the corner of balls and other events, speaks a lot of how little the ton considers Penelope as a desirable debutante. Everyone sees Colin running after Penelope multiple times this season, and everyone assumes it's out of pity, rather than care. Like she's not even the one chasing him, he's the one doing it in all four episodes!

i think one of the coolest things about dan howell is the example he sets of how your life isn’t over at 25, and one person won’t fix your life but you still can. dan met his actual soulmate at 18 and is only now, in his 30s, finding true and genuine happiness and fulfillment. meeting phil didn’t automatically solve all his problems, although he was clearly a significant part of the motivation to bother doing the work at all. but dan still put in the work himself for YEARS to improve himself and his life and it WORKED. your life isn’t over if you aren’t completely happy and fulfilled and the person you wish you could be in your 20s. putting in the work takes time but it is WORTH IT.

To all bilingual/polylingual phannies, whose first language isn't English, while watching dnp videos, do you ever just wonder what language they speak off camera, around their family and friends?
A lot of times, I will be wondering what language they will speak off camera. And then, I will have the same realisation for the umpteenth time, that they speak the same way off camera as on camera, as that is their first language 😅
At my place, English in it's "proper" form (without mixing it with any other language, or using any region specific slang), is mostly used only in professional/formal settings, and obviously dip and pip use this "proper" English commonly.
I don't have a lot of words to express why, but I find it fascinating that people have only one language that they use throughout their life.
Has anyone had this thought?

Something I love about Richard is how sensible, or responsible, he is when his friends are doing drugs or thinking of doing drugs.
Here’s a list:
• When Richard thinks Henry has LSD and he warns him not to mess around with that. (Bc he had a bad experience with it once.)
• Then when Henry tells him that what he has is actually poisonous mushrooms, the amount of times Richard goes “Henry” in that concerned motherly tone.😩
• Richard finds pain meds for Henry, and Henry demands him to hand over the rest, but Richard refuses, worried he’s going to take more.
• He also warns Henry about how dangerous it is to take those with alcohol, so Richard gets him a *very* watered down drink.
• Richard has strong uppers and downers in his pockets and Francis asks for some, but all he gives him is an Excedrin.
• He sees Charles smoking weed for the first time with Cloke, and he can’t help but feel sympathetic for Charles, knowing his own experience with it. (He gets paranoid.)
Meanwhile Richard’s out here getting fucked up every once in a while, literally doing cocaine and taking opioid sleeping pills, but when it comes to his friends he becomes a concerned mother.
I love him, he’s adorable.🤦
