Bozo here turned off reblogs and comments but it’s so fucking obvious that JKR is against hitler by reading this tweet. Not saying I necessarily agree with her core take (likely in the context of the Charlie Kirk situation) but JKR saying that someone is using the same methods as hitler and is therefore bad is the complete opposite of whatever this tumblr post is implying. She’s using a quote of hitler to show that she perceives anti-fascists using fascist methods. What better way to do that than to pull from the most notorious facist himself.

JKR is repeating the lie that the violence is coming from the progressive side. In reality the attacks that caused the most outrage, Minnesota, Kirk, the attempts on Trump, and many others have been people on the right attacking either people on the left or others on the right. To say that we are pushing violence is the Big Lie. The same lie they used when they claimed that the Black Lives Matter protests were violent riots. For that JKR needs to be held accountable.

Nah, not really. Following the crowd and doing exactly what everyone else is doing isn't bravery. Culturally appropriating a keffiyah and wearing pins calling to mind the lynching of Jews isn't bravery. Boycotting art and blacklisting artists for their nationality isn't bravery. Parroting blood libel and terrorist propaganda isn't bravery.

Bravery would have been for any of them to acknowledge, for even a second, the terror and the pain and the trauma of the victims of the atrocities of October 7 or along with their (obviously warranted) concern for Palestinian civilians, the suffering of the hostages for over 700 days and counting. Bravery would be for any of them to condemn the appalling rise of violent antisemitism in the guise of activism.

Bravery would be for any of them, in their calls for the rights of Palestinians to live peacefully, to acknowledge the rights of Israelis to have the same, instead of living under the threat of constant terror attacks and rocket fire. Bravery would be for a single one of them to stop and say "None of this is right and I won't participate."
