I’d like to draw more attention to antisemitism that affects real Jewish people, because honestly? I have not seen as much outrage over the lives of actual people than I have over a fictional white gentile. So I’ve compiled a list of posts and blogs for my fellow gentiles to read.

After the release of the Beforus album there is a new group of characters from Homestuck that has yet to be explored; the ancestors and the guardians.

While some album have referenced them (and one album, Tomb of the Ancestors has been made by Robert Blaker about the ancestors) the ancestors generally only have two songs each (exceptions being Handmaid and Condesce. The idea here is to, like the Beforus album, explore more of their personalities, their relationships, their stories and the events of their era.

As we know arguably less about them than we did the alpha trolls, this will allow for huge artistic freedom and we are looking for both artists and musicians to properly convey these stories.

The album will explore the Alternia ancestors, all eight guardians and some of the Beforan ancestors, going by what little we have found out about them.

The mods of this project are porrim-maryam and vriska.

so he goes to deadpool like “you know that thing you do where you break the fourth wall or w/e” and deadpool’s like “yeah?”

so they go off and fight the marvel writers (with swords) and then destroy the new issues (with fire) and then they go to see steve and steve hugs them all and he’s crying and thanking them for saving his characterisation

But Elementary goes “you know what? I bet Sherlock put a lot of work into developing and honing those skills, and that he could teach those skills to other people”. Sure, there’s definitely a measure of natural talent to it, but it’s also made clear that it’s just as much about training and learning and depending on others when your own knowledge and skills aren’t enough.

In the process, it’s also tacitly acknowledged that Sherlock couldn’t be what he is or do the things he does if he hadn’t been born so privileged. The only reason why he’s had the time and opportunity to train himself up, to gather such a deep and varied well of knowledge and to form such a vast network of experts he can contact for help, is because he’s rich.

Without his father’s money, he would have less time to devote to bettering himself as a detective: he would have to worry about earning a paycheck, about keeping himself fed and housed and keeping his living space clean and orderly without the help of a housekeeper. 

He would have to worry about the cost of his experiments and equipment and consulting fees and all sorts of other mundane things that would clutter up his mind. He would have to charge for his services, and accept boring cases just to pay the bills.

Without his father’s money, he wouldn’t have his extensive education. He wouldn’t have the Brownstone. He wouldn’t have Watson.
