I just finished, for the first time EVER, outlining part one of my novel, which is insane. I’ve never been able to sit down and really decide clearly from start to beginning what part one (or any of the parts would entail). I decided a bit ago that there would be four parts and I have a very rough idea of what parts two through four entail and a great idea of what part one has in store but now part one is very concrete and I’ve also been able to identify what little details I wanna inlay in part one that help make other actions and twists foreseeable.

Part One is titled “The Victors Humble Beginnings” and is 11 chapters and so far has a word count of about 21k words and seven/eleven chapters written.

(Adult Fantasy)

Synopsis: Upon her victory against a long standing Lord, palace guard Lygana is tasked by her king to travel east, across the sea, to uncover the truth of the rumors of the return of magic in the nation Aubruk and what this may mean in the coming years for their own kingdom. Meanwhile, as King Gathen of Priale sends his newest champion off to uncover the tales of magic in the east, he begins to fear that the time he has been told about in nightmare tales is finally upon the world again. Trapped between wars and fleeting alliances and grudges that span generations Gathen works to understand, from the home front, exactly what the return of this power to the world truly means for them all. And a third voice, the High King of the East, begins to enact plans that have been generations in the making for the world that has blessed his lands with the fabled return of a great power that not to be messed around with.

“The passing days saw intense agony. Aside from the physical pains of the weeks that preceded, Aegis thought of nothing but the loss he suffered at the hands of a woman who had no right to stand where she stood, had no right to be in the company she was now in. Redemption seemed farfetched to him now. An opportunity to prove, wholeheartedly, that each generation has repented, giving up as much as they possibly could for their sins, as much as they needed and more to be in the right with their king. And still somehow, the effort made little difference. Strength and its façade were a tedious and tumultuous thing. The crafted, curated existence he lived left him constantly exhausted, always ready for those before him to see what they wanted.” — Aegis (your resident brooding boy, under a lot of stress but still honestly the sweetest man you’ll meet, just wait and see, he’s one of my darlings in this series!)

The story focuses on the three main points of view, Lygana, Gathen and Cypress, while other voice are sprinkled in (as shown above by the POV excerpt of Aegis).

The setting is slightly all over the place, with three major continents, a northern tundra continent (similar to Antarctica) which has inhabitants and large islands that also play political roles.

Hello everyone! Thank you so much for the support on my intro post! With Campnano 2 hours away (in NYC, in the US) I wanted to get to introducing the WIP that’s getting me through nano and has been getting me through these last 5 years!

(It’s very clear when you read this synopsis I’m not qualified to write synopses whatsoever 😂)

Synopsis: Lygana wins the kings championship against her final competitor and is elevated from city guard to guest of the king within the palace. Her first task: travel across the sea to a Aubruk, a nation rumored to have been blessed with the return of magic. Her king, afraid of what they might accomplish should they seek to use the power sends her to infiltrate the army and gather information on them and return with three years.

Gathen, King of Priale, has sent his new champion and former city guard, Lygana across the sea to deal with the looming threats he’s been warned of, but before he can worry about what goes on across the sea he must deal with the unstable, teetering on the brink of war, continent on which he resides. To the north a queen seeking revenge tests him, within his homeland and across the nations of the continent, insurectionist groups take form and within his own mind he fights dangerous urges.

Cypress, King of Aubruk, has been informed of various people have been able to access a form of power long since religated to myth, upon inspection he sees that myth and legend have come to life, and a darker path will take hold if he does not act fast.

Caught between political, inter and intrapersonal struggles, the three must find ways to protect themselves and those they seek to defend, some in line with what they’ve always believed and some at the cost of morality, as the world around them fractures, encroaching on a breaking point that will have the world cowering.

Major Settings:

Priale - kingdom in the south of western continent, largest by population and size.

Aubruk - vast central kingdom taking up most of the long eastern continent.

There’s 3 overarching POV’s and various interlittered POV’s which help drive the story.

The original iteration of this story was for my final English project in 7th grade (it resembles nothing of what I have now).
