Hello! I'm Alistair, and I love making stories and universes. Tales of Paludaria is one of such universes and the one I'm most focused on right now, and I hope to one day turn it into a series of books. Though right now I'm focusing mostly on worldbuilding, and a handful of characters and storylines. English isn't my first language, so these posts might be a bit clunky.
Tales of Paludaria is meant to be a fantasy, quest type of story, with two main characters and a rotating cast of support characters with their own conflicts as they travel the world; includes action, romance, and a healthy sprinkle of mystery.
With that out of the way, here's the synopsis!
After the disappearance of his older brother Narciso eight years ago, Máximo 'Max' Romero has turned eighteen, and thus fully gained the rights to his brother's house per his testament.
Kicked out by his parents that had always preferred his brother, he moves to a remote part of the country with nothing but a suitcase and a backpack. Yet, at the old house in the jungle, he finds a locked room with artifacts that don't seem too belong to this world and diaries that belonged to his brother. Following its instructions, he falls through the pond in the backyard and finds himself in a green, lush land of wetlands and forests, where the inhabitants are salamanders that walk on two legs and shape nature to their whims.
One the first towns he visits, he finds an angry mob throwing rocks at a young man with a metal collar. Max defends him, and he introduces himself as Ca'licenia, a powerful sorcerer and criminal, constantly targeted by villagers of whichever town he's in. Ca'licenia proposes a deal; he'll become Max's guide to help him find Narciso in exchange for protection until he can find a way to get rid of his collar, the mark of his crime. Despite his reservations, Max accepts, and the two of them embark on a journey through all of Paludaria, where despite their differences they'll grow closer than any of them expected.
Hopefully that's interesting, haha.
I'll upload art of maps, clothes, environments, a lot of cuisine (because I like cooking) and character design. I also might upload short scenes and snippets, as long as they're not too plot relevant or spoiler-y.
