Ms Fleetwood has her daughter brought into hospital. it’s bad. she needs surgery on her leg. the doctor who did her daughter’s surgery seems to go insane and tries to kill one of her friends. the hospital alarms go off and when the chaos has all calmed down Norah isn’t in her bed.

it’s happened again. Ms Fleetwood’s beloved daughter is brought into hospital by her friends. last time she had her head cracked open and couldn’t remember what happened. this time she’s brought into hospital by her friends and it’s worse. this time she vanishes in the chaos with bolts surgically embedded in her leg, bound in a cast. both times Norah disappears shortly after waking up, before she can be discharged from care.

next time Ms Fleetwood sees her daughter, she can somehow walk again. it’s been less than a day since her surgery and she’s up on her two legs. she’s probably still covered in faded bloodstains. there is something so fundamentally different about her.

Ms Fleetwood finds her daughter inherently changed. her once nervously polite but silly and good-humoured daughter won’t even smile anymore. that sheltered kid naïvety is gone without a trace. Norah keeps waking up screaming, shaking, crying so hard she can’t breathe or talk. Ms Fleetwood walks past her daughter’s room late at night and hears her sleeptalking, crying for her father, for her friends, apologising over and over to an unknown being. her hallucinations get worse.

Ms Fleetwood isn’t a psychologist by any means but she knows the signs of trauma when she sees them. somewhere between Norah disappearing from her hospital bed and next time Ms Fleetwood sees her, something horrific happened.
