despite his new cordial appearance, tailored fabrics fall inferior to wanted posters. a little stunt in floaroma town some odd months ago pins him against every bulletin board and city lamppost. 

faust barely stifles snide remarks as officers detain him. “i know how this works,” he hisses through his teeth. though, fighting coincides with stupidity. he welcomes the handcuffs–a long time, no see mentality and a string of ironic laughter. 

lead to the station with cold metal mocking him in the backseat of the patrol car, faust knows this isn’t the end. he weighs his options of escape routes and repression of the thought of that one phone call.

the gang member can’t trace many tight connections, or for that matter, loose ends, across a map of sinnoh. with a sigh, faust runs his finger through his hair at the tricky recollection. bright blue eyes against smooth porcelain; why would any young boy want to forget such a beauty? he can take advantage of her compassion, her naivety. but faust held his pride in the back of his throat–too thick to swallow. 

“get your hands off me!” faust nearly growls, squirming underneath the officers’ heavy palms. he wipes the shoulders of his coat, adjusts the hem and lapel before greeting the female. though his chest jolts at the realization of her presence, he refuses their eyes to meet. his chin slants downward as he speaks. 

      “hello again, lillia.” 

Not wanting to dwell on the past any longer than what was needed, she blinked away a tear and held her head up. She wanted him to see that the past didn’t affect her anymore. That whatever happened happened and she was alright… 

           but she wasn’t.  

“F-faust...” She could not understand why — why was she the one that had to bail him out; why didn’t he call someone else — someone who wouldn’t have felt pain when they saw him. But, what hurt the most was that, even after all this time, he didn’t even look her in the eye. She blinked away another tear. 

 No. Stop. Don’t Cry. 

Quickly, she made a complete 180° turn. Lillia felt like an idiot, she wasn’t going to let him see her tears. He wasn't allowed to know what she was feeling, not after being gone for so long and then appearing like this. It was unfair. She spent all her time worrying about him, wondering what went wrong. Not knowing was ruining her, but it was her chance now. She could finally get answers.
