Six years since I last posted. Haha! Here again to update myself and talk to myself.
Been applying to different posts this year. And what I’m most looking forward to is being a Foreign Service Officer. But I’m just halfway through the battery of tests and idek if I passed the second of four tests. It was an enriching experience, nonetheless.

An update since my last real update.
So I got appointed as a Public Attorney last January! I was on my adjustment period when the lockdown started. So it’s all back to square one when office resumed in June.
But I’ve been on full lawyering mode since July. I am currently handling two courts. A special commercial court and a first level court. I am happy and grateful for my court assignments because both judges are very nice and helpful! And have I mentioned that the assigned prosecutors are nice and helpful, too?
I submitted my first Motion for Reconsideration (for a Decision) yesterday, consisting of nine pages! I honestly do not know where all those 9 pages came from.
And today, I brought home seven case folders.
Demurrer to Evidence for RA 9165
Counter Affidavit for Rape
Counter Affidavit for RA 7610
Counter Affidavit for Attempted Homicide
Counter Affidavit for Trespass (of some sort)
Motion for Reconsideration (for the Resolution finding probable cause) for Estafa
Complaint for Damages under Article 2189
I am through with two already. So will just do the rest tomorrow for a Sunday off. 🤍

Found myself downloading the Tumblr app again. Maybe I need an outlet. On top of the crisis we all are experiencing, I have my own. It seems to me a Catch-22.
You see, I am very stressed. And due to said stress, I eat more and my face is undergoing a breakout phase worse than what I have experienced since ever. And guess what? The aforementioned adds to said stress which aggravates my condition all the more! It is a cycle!
Primary stressor though is that I haven’t received my salary for the last seven months. And boy is it hard to be broke for so long a time. I can’t pay bills. I can’t buy stuff. I can’t do anything, really.
You know what kind of breakout I need? A breakout from the cycle I’m stuck in.
So this is my current setup. Actually, this is my bb’s. The work table, the gaming mouse, everything in the photo—except the laptop and the mouse pad.

I'm still not practising as a lawyer because I'm still waiting for my appointment as a Public Attorney. But I think it's due any time now.
Once appointed, maybe I will be actively microblogging again. Ah. Wish me luck. 🍀

…I almost killed myself
I put on my sunglasses, to hide my swollen eyes, over my tears. I cried all my makeup off. Went inside to have a milkshake. I don’t know why. I wanted something to drink as I figured out what I would do. I got a soda and a milkshake. Medium. The cashier looked at me and with a line around the corner of the counter he rushed away from the counter “Hold on “ he yelled to a coworker.
I filled my soda and went back and saw him looking all over. I go up and he gets close and says “I made it a large”.
That was seriously enough for me not to do it. His kindness. Someone went out of their way and as I went back in my car to cry I realized I could muster through a few other days. A few more weeks. Then I came down from that panicky high of anxiety, depression, and pain. I finished my shake. And it was enough time to let me feel better. I… I’m alive. I’ll make it through.
Try and be nice today. Tomorrow. Something as much as a smile. It helped so much.

walked sobbing around a city once wearing a summer dress in mid-september thunder and rain. basically dragged myself into LUSH as the smell of the store always made me smile. the shop was empty and dead due to the weather, just this blonde short woman behind the counter who smiled at me. i stared at her feet and asked ‘do you have anything for people who are scared a lot?’ (i was so out of it i had no clue). she showed me two bath bombs, one pink and one blue, and said both were good - i chose the pink, paid for it and left. i then sat at a bus stop clutching the LUSH bag in one arm and my prescription meds in the other - i’d lied and ordered a refill so i could just drift away with sleeping pills. when the bus arrived and i was out of the rain, i decided to have another look at my bath bomb, smell it and what not. opened my bag and saw she’d put the blue one in there for me as well and written on the receipt ‘feel better soon :) hope you like x’.
no one had ever been so selflessly kind to me before, i didn’t know what to do with it except hang around long enough to use the other bath bomb.
Actually I’m going to reblog this again because of the truth of the inverse: think of any time you have been casually cruel or petty to someone for humor or because you weren’t in a great mood.
The power of small gestures goes both ways.
I am already at a point where people will send me copies of their notes and I will print and read everything. Everything I get my hands on! The Bar Frenzy is real, you guys!
Even if it means I get to sleep for two hours because there's a mass at 6am which I have to attend, because religion and prayers and Ora et Labora. I am taking all my chances.
And btw, I am fully operating on milktea now. I miss coffee, but it's a good 70 steps away! Milktea is just for 20 steps, stairs included.
Countdown
I have five more days to study my heart out. Five days before the start of the 4-week Bar Exam. I don't think I'm prepared. But as a professor once said, "One can never be really prepared."
17 August 18 I have ran out of windows to post my stickies. Walls aren't so sticky conducive. I went to the bookstore to buy some vinyl sheets to cover a portion of my wall for it to serve as a sticky board, but I instead bought a world map. See, it serves two purposes: inspiration and sticky board.
