Heat bit at your body like embers, the smallest spark from hours before slowly ate away at your sanity. He’d been innocent enough- strolling out of the home gym after an evidentially intense work; his sweats hanging off his hips as he pulls his tank off, using it to dab at the perspiration dripping down his neck. You had watched on graciously from afar, your gaze greedily taking in his defined abdomen- tense from recent workout pressure, enjoying the view more so as he pivots round the corner; exposing his toned shoulder blades as he brings an arm across his chest, using the crook of the other to stretch it out. 

The memory stoked at the embers, engulfing your cheeks as you restlessly turn your back on your clueless assailant. How could he constantly have this effect on you without even knowing, nor trying? You sigh, wriggling your hips and shuffling up the bed to push your face into a higher part of your pillow; willing its contrasting coolness to calm the inner flames.

Though your back was turned, you could still hear the gentle rise and fall in his breaths, relentless in his subconscious efforts to remind you of his presence. How can he rest so peacefully when you’re so agitated? Wasn’t it said that couples so close were meant to sense their partner’s distress? You scowl inwardly to yourself as you roll onto you back with a uncourteous flump-scattering the sheets so they no longer covered you and doubled up onto Baekhyun. You turn your head to gauge his consciousness.

She’s the one person I could always count on. I owe her a lot. I don’t think I ever told her that.

“By the way Dr. Sattler, she’s not like… available is she?”

“Why?”

“Oh, I’m sorry you two are uh-”
