no worries anon! i love answering questions ^_^ this one is very interesting to me

1. hmm. depends heavily on what you mean by meeting jon irl. if i met jon as in a jon fictionkin or a fictive irl, i'd be pretty neutral i think? that isn't my jon, the one i shared my life with, but i'm willing to be friends. if i met jon irl as in, curly graying hair capital-A Archivist jon who has a major in english and couldn't jailbreak a laptop to save her life, i think i would wrap my arms around her like an octopus and never ever ever let go again. i would be absolutely overjoyed to see the love of my life in the flesh again, just as beautiful as the day i lost her.

2. this part is semi-answered by #1! on account of the fact i don't view jon as wholly fictional, i would love her in any form she took, whether that be this plane or the astral one.

if you are meaning to ask whether i'd date a jon fictionfolk though... i mean..? i'm not entirely sure. they'd have to be specifically a canonmate, and i am so very hesitant to trust anyone claiming to be a canonmate because the chances of them truly being from my canon are so slim. not to mention that it would conflict heavily with my understanding of jon and i's relationship and how things occurred for us in my canon. it would completely uproot a lot of my personal beliefs, and while i'm not immune to being wrong about something, i'd feel hurt knowing that all the times jon had spoken to me from the astral plane came from my own mind rather than hers. i try very hard to give jon as much autonomy as possible given our circumstances, and i'd feel like i failed at that.

i wouldn't entirely rule out the possibility though, because there is a part of me that is truly desperate to see my wife in the flesh again. but the chances are so slim, and it's not as if i'm like, actively seeking anyone out or anything. also i'm very canon compliant, so that muddies things even further with just how many other canon compliant martins are out there. there are some things that are specific to my canon that might resonate with someone, so maybe i could toss a bone to one of those "find a canonmate" blogs, but i severely doubt that i'd be able to connect with anyone i remember at all, let alone someone in my biological age range.
