   “Nothing,” Brand echoes, skeptical in tone but not outright accusatory,     “Spoken like one of my brothers caught with his hand in the krumkake jar.”

she cannot just SAY that she was hiding from her duties for a moment – not to someone she hardly knew. in fact, that isn’t even something she would LIKELY admit to anna. but she has been caught in a LIE. 

               “ you aren’t SUPPOSED to be back here either. “

“You’re right.” Brand concedes, bowing his head slightly. “A portion of my men fell very ill while we were sailing to a summit, and a ship from Arendelle was gracious enough to respond to our distress signal and guide us to port.”

His customary easygoing smile fades into a more thoughtful and grave expression, though he does his best to keep his tone light.

❝   They’ll be heartbroken when they find out.  ❞
