With Vegito being established in the Buu saga, and remaining present going into Super, means that things are going to diverge from canon. Here's a short list summarizing the immediate differences, details and nuances to be TBD or decided upon as they come up in threads:
(Amita also plays a hand these events but I'll be focusing on potara man here.)
God of Destruction Beerus Saga || Things mostly stay the same here, except Vegito going SS3 actually does something against Beerus. SSG is achieved and Vegito genuinely forces Beerus to try. The battle ends in a draw. Whis agrees to start training Vegito.
Universe 6 Saga || Uhh since U7 wins the tournament in canon anyway, Vegito just steamrolls the competition. No Monaka nonsense. Zeno still shows up, and while Vegito doesn't introduce himself to him directly, Zeno still takes notice of him and his strength.
"Future" Trunks Saga || OH BOY. I do have an AU for this saga with kiealer, but in terms of canon, it still goes about the same??? Zeno doesn't give Vegito a button to call him though. Vegito doesn't really struggle against Goku Black, though due to his timeline placement and lacking the higher multiplied power Goku & Vegeta got by fusing at this stage, Fused Zamasu puts up a fight. It ends with Zamasu completely destroyed by Trunks's and Vegito's combined effort. No Infinite Zamasu, no Zeno arriving to erase Trunks's timeline.
Tournament of Power Saga || The big one. There is no Frieza, Vegito would not allow him to be put on the team. Yamcha and Majin Buu are added. Vegito battles Caulifla and Kale without struggling too much, but their fusion makes it a much more fair battle. He still ends up winning. The tournament's other events would diverge but still lead back to the central point of Jiren being the main opponent to defeat. It's an explosive finale, but Vegito wins in the end through unleashing the full range of his power up to that point. He nearly taps into Ultra Instinct, but not quite.
I'll leave it here for now since my knowledge on the rest of the arcs is very lacking.
Notes about character dynamics:
Caulifla & Kale: Their relationship to Vegito wouldn't be much different from how they feel about Goku, though Vegito would be more so arrogant to them and have a "rivalry" with Kefla.
Cabba: Vegito's more receptive to taking up a mentor position for him. Cabba admires him greatly.
Hit: Vegito's intrigued by his power over time manipulation, and is interested on a battle where the both of them can go all out. It stops there though, he has little interest in him otherwise.

While not over the top with it and they not being married, Vegito is very "my wife my wife my wife" about Amita. If she comes up in a conversation, he'll praise her smarts, generosity, and strength effortlessly.
When he's in public with her, his affection is clear to see on his face and how he conducts himself with her. Due to this, she has also gained some global attention, but fortunately the average citizen is smart enough to not cause trouble for her; and especially not for him.
(Yes this still the DB OTP, it has not changed π₯°)
I need to sit down and write a general overview on DBS' altered events with Vegito (I've needed to for literal years now) being in the place of both Goku and Vegeta. Because many things would be changed, some heavily at that.
If/Whenever I return to this blog, there will be some heavy changes. Might end up moving to a different account for a fresh start. I'll announce any updates at a later time if I have them.

planet vegeta au vegito isn't benevolent by any means, he was nurtured under the same kind of "we're entitled to the universe & should take it by force" rhetoric that all other saiyans are. he does have a general lack of regard for life. however, he drastically differs from most of his kin as he just...never got into the status quo. he personally finds invading planets and killing other races just to steal their land & resources is lame. as a warrior focused on improving his strength and capabilities, there's no true enrichment to be found in essentially stepping on the weak. vegito also isn't the sort to shame his weaker kin and treat them like they're worthless trash; he does in fact value the lives of his fellow saiyans - be they elites or third class. he thinks there shouldn't BE a caste system in the first place because what good does it even do.
this puts him at great odds with his papa, king vegeta iii, and his lil bro vegeta iv. in fact vegito's sure that his father deliberately sought out the impregnation of some female saiyan elite from his harem just so he could get another heir as a second shot for one that aligns to his beliefs. it shows in how he's favored vegeta iv greatly since his birth and played much more of a role in his development than in vegito's own. vegeta iv ended up being like a carbon copy of their father, both in appearance and in vicious demeanor.
in normal situations, vegito would just hand in his crown and not bother with the drama, but he does still have his pride. turning tail and fleeing his own birthplace doesn't feel like the right decision, so he stays - however ignorant he is to how deep his family's distaste for him truly runs. around when vegeta iv is in his late teens and more involved with royal duties, the saiyan populace at large would show much more favor towards vegito's chill personality over king vegeta and vegeta iv's callousness. his father and brother would take that as even more of a threat towards their power over the saiyans, in case a civil war were to ever break out and many put their loyalty towards vegito.
i do wonder when the colds would set their sights directly on planet vegeta and how they would take it over....that could go a lot of ways. same with however vegito could meet amita.
time to dive into fanfic territory:
what if king cold, at first, approached king vegeta with the false sentiment of wanting an alliance? it's canon that frieza at least feared how strong of a force the saiyans would be if they banded together, so maybe king cold wouldn't want to jump the gun frame one.
but in truth, king cold fed into king vegeta's bloodlust as a manipulation tactic. giving more of the cold force's resources in exchange for the saiyan army serving alongside them was intended to weaken their ranks and numbers - the third class saiyans dying en-mass on missions to worlds where the native populace was far too strong for them to handle. vegito, already having little interest in attending his responsibilities as prince, was largely kept out of the loop of what the "agreement" between his father and king cold entailed since his dad knew he would fight against it.
i could see planet selen getting invaded, but king cold develops a strong fascination in the selenians' more psychic & spiritual-based power. what if amita, along with a few dozen more, were captured and made the personal slaves of the colds and the saiyan royal family. what if, as a test to see if getting laid would make vegito ""wake up"", king vegeta gives amita to him as a "spoil" he could do whatever with.
however, he is not a rapist and is (unknowingly) deep in the asexual spectrum to boot soooo vegito has no interest in using amita's body any kind of way. not that she believes that, maintaining her hostility while vegito does things that make it clear he has no intentions on hurting her: preventing she getting manhandled by the palace's servants, sneaking in plates of food for her to eat, letting her use his bathing room, etc.
he states that it's only because he pities her and the situation her people are in, along with being frustrated over how foolish his father is being / has been for years. her sixth sense rarely leads her astray and she'd pick up that his intentions are true; she'd just stubbornly deny it for a while. they inevitably do start to learn about one another. at some point he gets the chance to get her off the planet via an attack pod, putting in coordinates for a safe, low power level world that was unlikely to be targeted anytime soon.
uhhhh i have a lot more i can add on, but i'm stepping onto dragonball rewrite ground now because i realized goku would've been raised on planet vegeta (it wouldn't have gotten blown up until way later compared to canon so gine - in my timeline - wouldn't have sent goku as a baby to earth) and this post has gotten long enough already LMAOOO
been thinking about a planet vegeta au where vegito lives on it - just as food for thought - and the cold force doesn't take the world over (at least not as early as they did in canon), but it's SO weird because being a fusion is a core element of what makes him who he is (figuratively & literally). removing that and making him Just A Guy is like turning him into a different person entirely.
i mean, it can still work on paper...i think. what if he was vegeta's older brother or something and the prince next in line for the throne. one of the strongest warriors on the planet at that. grown man with many expectations on his shoulders, but what if he didn't really give a shit about being king and just wanted to do his own thing - but vegeta (with a suppressed inferiority complex probably) did and plotted a betrayal of some sort. soap opera drama things.
i could be hella corny go the "how can i involve amita in this" route. it's already an au so what if i had the selenians be alive and stand alone on their planet. amita would appear as way more of a dragon/mammal blend, but still humanoid overall. the saiyans are infamous for their planet-invading n' whatnot, so the two of them meeting somehow would already be off to a bad start on amita's end π immediately wouldn't like him but...it'd be hard for her to ignore that he Handsome. and not so bad after she gets to know him and more of how he was raised.
vegito had never felt that interested in any of his fellow saiyans, but amita after some point would make the gears turn at light speed. she'd bring out his hidden monsterfucker side. actually can he even be called that since he ain't human himself?
