There is something in my head
I like the idea that after "Hikaru' and Yoshiki return to the village and finally start living peacefully like ordinary people, as they get closer to starting university, 'Hikaru' begins thinking more and more about what else he could do to make Yoshiki happy. He's started noticing that it bothers him more and more that, as a human, Yoshiki can't experience the joy of souls touching the way he can. And he wants—he really, really wants—Yoshiki to feel something just as wonderful.
So, with all his curiosity, 'Hikaru' began searching the internet. While the initial answers were harmless—massages, hugs, etc.—then they became increasingly more piquant, until he discovered that it was possible to be intimate with men just like with women.
He had no sexual desires or whims; he'd never even considered them, and he wasn't lying about his love being deeper than romantic. But the desire to see such a Yoshiki? It was overwhelming.
Needless to say, when 'Hikaru' suggested it, poor Yoshiki almost choked on his onigiri and spent the entire day avoiding him—until 'Hikaru' finally cornered him in the storage shed. In hindsight, maybe that tentacle video really had been educational.
.
.
.
In other words, I think 'Hikaru' would want this aspect of their relationship to feel just as mutual as everything else. The same way they share conversations, comfort, and support, he'd want them to find a way where they're both equally happy .
I genuinely see 'Hikaru' as asexual and aromantic. But for Yoshiki, I believe he'd still try to find their way of expressing intimacy—one that feels comfortable for both of them. The kind of connection where they understand each other without needing words.
Whoever started portraying 'Hikaru' as a puppy and Yoshiki as a kitty is so right and smart. That's them. They call each other that constantly after they move to Tokyo.
And now I wonder if 'Hikaru' can make goopy dog ears and tail for himself. He'd totally make them appear every time he needs to ask Yoshiki to do him a favor lmaoo
love, friendship, family... and you
i think we are long overdue for a game that does the reverse of 90s first person shooters and actively makes fun of the player for picking the hard difficulty
heres kinda what i mean
I had to add it bc it's too hilarious

Me when the guy I chose as a top in my ship is taller/more confident/stronger/more serious/etc: Come on, pals, it's obvious. Look at him. He's so clearly a top! Like every trait of his screams he's a top.
Me when the guy I chose as a top in my ship is shorter/cuter/weaker/more emotional/etc: Appearance and surface-level personality have NOTHING to do with top/bottom preferences. Be smarter, pals. Imagine how much more interesting the dynamic becomes if this guy tops.

Summer makes me think of The Summer Hikaru Died.
My fingers itched to draw a companion piece to my first tshd fanart, which I made in winter last year. And just like with the first piece I had tons of fun with the Yoshiki version of this!
This manga and anime means so much to me and I hope I could make it somewhat justice with both of my fanarts ( ꈍᴗꈍ)
For the Yoshiki-centered artwork I chose a color palette that was much more in my comfort zone with it's pinks and purples, than the greens and teals of the Hikaru-centered artwork c: I like both versions tho and I like that they complement each other!
My favorite part was drawing the organs infested with Hikarus goop! (ʘᴗʘ✿)
You have no idea how much I love that people were like "Yoshiki looks so mad!! He's gonna slaughter the company!! Yeah boy stab ppl who hurt your bf!!" And then Yoshiki just nullified all company's efforts by loving his monster so much and wishing he was truly free just like Yoshiki feels truly free when he's with him. He destroyed them with the power of love. THAT'S my Yoshiki 🥹
I really wish there were no infighting in tshd fandom
"Yoshiki loved OG Hikaru, the monster is just taking his place!" Yoshiki's love for OG and for monster Hikaru is different but both types of love are valid and important to him. 'Hikaru' gives Yoshiki a sense of freedom no other human can give him.
"Stop talking about OG Hikaru, we should only analyse Yoshiki & 'Hikaru'!" OG Hikaru's absence/death is a crucial part of the plot but we weren't given all these flashbacks with him for people not to engage with his tragic story and controversial personality. You can wish he and Yoshiki were able to confess their feelings to each other while also not diminishing the connection Yoshiki and 'Hikaru' have.
TLDR: Yoshiki has two hands!! lol
Like I seriously don't see any point in trying to downplay the importance of OG Hikaru or 'Hikaru's in Yoshiki's life.
Technically it's 'Hikaru' who made Yoshiki feel so accepted that he was able to freely express his love and grow more confident in himself. But if OG Hikaru hadn't made his wish, Yoshiki might have been dead already. (I believe that Hikaru was scared that after his death Yoshiki would feel so alone that he would take his own life. It is also proven by Yoshiki's "then kill me" wish to 'Hikaru') So he saved Yoshiki's life. While also giving the illegitimate a chance to experience human things. Which 'Hikaru' is really grateful for. Even he wouldn't agree with OG Hikaru's slander! Live love hikayoshikaru

i fucking love hikahika
Initially, the audience might easily misinterpret "Hikaru’s" behavior in Chapter 4 as a calculated act of psychological manipulation via utilizing the seductive guise of his deceased best friend to ensnare the emotionally vulnerable teenager intentionally. By inviting Yoshiki to touch his stomach and peel back his clothes, "Hikaru" appears to be weaponizing human intimacy, leveraging the fragile boundaries of adolescent desire to force Yoshiki into a state of complicit silence. However, as the manga progresses, this deeply unsettling dynamic shifts from a narrative of malicious deception into something far more tragic. The entity’s intentions are not driven by a desire to conquer or exploit, but by a profoundly desperate, childlike yearning to exist in the human world, specifically, to exist alongside Yoshiki. "Hikaru" is a creature navigating a chaotic, rapid emotional learning curve, instinctively mimicking the rituals of human courtship because he recognizes that Yoshiki is his only harbour amidst a village that despises the “unknown” (Whether it’s the young boy’s homosexuality or a monster that never meant harm, I’ll emphasize this idea in a different blog). The horror evolves from the fear of a monster manipulating a boy, into the devastating realization that both characters are trapped in a mutual, codependent orbit: one striving to learn a love he cannot fully comprehend, and the other entirely willing to be consumed by it...
