Is this worse, this knowing?

Beside him ‘Hikaru’ shivers and Yoshiki wonders if maybe he’s getting sick. Can he get sick?

“Need to get closer,” ‘Hikaru’ mumbles against his skin, “you don’t mind, do ya?"

‘Hikaru’ sniffs loudly, and wipes at his nose, a dark tendril skittering back upwards. He turns to look at Yoshiki, one narrow pupil swirling and trembling with fractals. “Ya mean it?” The hurt in ‘Hikaru’s’ voice almost winds him.  Leaning forward, Yoshiki steels himself before pulling ‘Hikaru’ in for a stiff hug. It’s awkward, but ‘Hikaru’ once told Yoshiki that he could feel his soul burning like a flame inside his chest, and he hopes that if he can just get close enough then maybe ‘Hikaru’ can feel the truth in his soul when he says, “Yeah, Hikaru. ‘Course I like ya.”
