the thing is that sometimes i do notice a recurring plot point across different works of fiction and wonder if it has a name but when i go check tvtropes it’s never there bc their whole index is stuff like Bad Guys Are Scary (trope where the bad guys are scary) or Fuck My Grandma (trope where a character trips and yells something funny, named after a scene from Buffy where Spike tripped and yelled “fuck my grandma”) (subverted: the character did trip, but they didn’t yell anything funny)
