I felt awkward about writing after posting the Xavier "yandere-ish" piece just as shit began to hit the fan. It all threw me through a loop and I felt bad for writing anything regard Percy and/or his characters even though I wasn't made aware of the allegations against Percy until a couples days after posting the piece.

I'm not going to go into being indifferent, on Percy's side, or on the victim's sides because I want to stay out of that issue as much as possible but im keeping updated about the situation as much as possible.

I'm going to 'separate the art from the artist' as we can put it. Xavier isn't Percy although Percy does portray Xavier's character.

The lecture was long and boring. He had no business in judging anyone who chose to block out the monotonous ramblings of the instructor as they went on and on about one particular plant whose poison could be used to put people in a coma. Even he had chosen to direct his attention to something more worth his while. A drawing.  He was a master of drawing… or at least, that’s what everyone made it seem like who knew of his talent. He’s constantly drawing. Drawing, drawing, and drawing some more. It’s almost as if he had been born with a pencil and paint brush in his hands. Being a student of Nevermore only served to project the ‘tortured artist’ stereotype onto him even further than it would elsewhere. He loved to draw and paint. It takes his mind off of everything and everyone going on around him. All the problems of the world and in his life disappear when he picks up a pen and lets the ink bleed into the paper before his eyes.

Recently there has been one thing in particular that he has enjoyed drawing. One person actually. He’s plagued with images of this being. His mind is unable to think of anything else until an entire paper or canvas is covered, corner to corner, with the object of his recent infatuation. You!

Only Wednesday is aware of just how far down the rabbit hole he has fallen in regard to thinking about you. His obsession has reached the point that many drawing pads have been filled, front to back, with images of your face or points in time where he has captured your beauty as you go about doing whatever it is that you choose to do during your time at Nevermore or when you’re in Jericho. There are more drawings and painting than he, nor anyone else, would ever wish to count.

Xavier denies that he’s way too far in over his head with sealing your beauty into an immortalized form with his artwork but, considering it has only been three weeks since you arrived to campus and he has gone this far already without even officially meeting you, he doesn’t find it any bit surprising to know that if anyone else were to find out about this he’d likely be penalized with a restraining order.

And so he drawing silently, his eyes flitting in your direction oh so frequently. He wants to capture every detail perfectly without getting caught. He can’t make it obvious. So he makes his glances quick and discrete.

He sits one aisle behind you today. How unfortunate it is that someone had chosen to take your seat for that lecture day without any particular reason. At least his sits on the opposite end of the classroom though so that he can still capture the beauty of your side profile from behind. He works quickly to get every detail of your face and body onto the paper. The time limit of the lecture inching closer to bringing his project to an end with each passing second. Each second feeling far less than that to the stressed artist. Of course, he knows that he could still finish the piece even after the bell has rung but there’s something about beginning and finishing within such a limited timeframe that makes him feel accomplished when he’s capable of pulling the quest off.

If only each lecture that he had with you could be longer!

As he finalized the details of your uniform the dreaded bell rings. He has no choice but to quickly close up his sketch book before any students can see. Some of them are already headed out the door while others struggle to get out of their seats as they shove their notebooks and other belongings into backpacks or wrestle them into a position between their arms and ribcages to carry them out the door. When he looks your way Xavier sees that you are beginning to head out of class. He’s always astonished with how quickly you can get around despite how crowded areas of nevermore can get during times like this. Once his sketch book is between his arms, he briskly begins to exit the classroom. He hopes to see your evading figure for just a second before the two of you must separate for the rest of the day. Screw whoever made up your schedule! He wishes he had more classes with you.

Unfortunately, Xavier finds no luck in seeing you before he reaches the hall that leads to his next class. With a sigh of discontent, he pauses momentarily in the hallway, looking down the direction that he knows you’ve gone. If only he could follow.

With a quick huff he resumes his journey to his next class.

He may not have anymore classes with you for the day but he knows that you’ll be going to the fair tonight. He’s planned it for so long. Tonight he’ll finally introduce himself and you’ll be smitten with him just like he is with you. If not, Wednesday will help him with his endeavors to make you interested in the loner elitist boy at school.

Rough hands knead into your skin. The tightness of his grasp and the forcefulness of his fingers digging into your skin leaving bruises that will without a doubt be noticeable for days.

Domineering assertions that you belong to him and only he can touch you. If anyone besides him even looks like they’d want to touch you, he’ll lose it.

He takes you to every event, to every party but you MUST stay by his side, or he’ll erratically drag you to his truck, force you into the passenger seat and either fuck you then and there or he’ll drive you home, take you to his room, and punish you at his family’s mansion.

He nearly tears large chunks of hair out of his scalp when his anger climaxes to the point that he’s angrily yelling in your face and punching walls. No matter what the issue is, you get involved in some way or another and often face the brunt of his explosions only to have to pick up the pieces and make him feel better after it’s all over.

There are more nights than you can count where he’s coked out of his mind or going on runs to Barry’s place to beg him for a good fix, promising that he’ll pay him back soon… but if Barry says ANYTHING about you, especially if it’s threatening or suggestive, Rafe will punch the lights out of him and make him see stars.

He’s so uncharacteristically apologetic to you after his outbursts. They happen so often that you become use to it, but he knows that they still always terrify you and what he says to you during those times are things that he doesn’t mean, or he says things that are taken WAY out of context. He knows this and begs you to forgive him and stay with him. It’s so shitty but he’ll go so far as to threaten to kill you and himself both if you ever think about leaving him.

HE CAN’T LIVE WITHOUT YOU.

When things are going good, they are going great but when things aren’t going according to plan, life is a living hell for everyone involved, especially those closest to Rafe… meaning you and his family.

When he’s kicked out of the house, he’ll crash at an empty house that has been left unoccupied while the owners are away on vacation and he’ll ask you to stay with him OR he’ll come and crash at your place. If he has to sweet-talk his way into persuading your parents to let him stay then he will… surely a good bribe will go along way if push comes to shove. If you’re living on your own than that’s even better, Rafe will definitely be coming and staying over.

Rafe tries to keep you out of the situation involving his and Ward’s attempts to keep the gold and steal the cross, but he KNOWS that there’ll be times where you’ll become involved in the situation. He threatens to destroy your families’ livelihood if you go against him and his family. If he even suspects that you’ll help Sarah, Kie, JJ, Pope, or John B, he’ll try and take you somewhere where he can lock you in a room until everything is over.

He denies everything that you ask or confront him about. NO he would NEVER try to drown his own little sister or shoot her. NO, he would never shoot a cop. Trying to murder the pogues by drowning them in the sewers??? How could you dare think that he’d do such a thing?... If he doesn’t deny it then he admits it so dismissively, as though whatever he has done is no big deal, or he tries to manipulate you into believing that he was the victim of the situation and had no choice but to do those things.

If you find out that he has been arrested, he hopes that you’ll help bail him out if his family doesn’t do it before you do. But DON’T expect him to say anything about why he was arrested, you’ll be left in the dark besides whatever the sheriffs tell you.

If/when you get roped into the fight for the gold or the cross, Rafe will make damn sure that you know that you can only help him and his father, NOBODY ELSE. If he has to threaten you over and over again to keep you in check, he will. But he shouldn’t have to because a good partner would support their significant other through thick and thin, right? If not, than surely pointing a gun to your head will keep you from betraying him… he hopes.

He promises you that he’ll give you the world if you just stay out of his way and let him take care of the pogues. Don’t worry about the money, don’t worry about the rumors, don’t think about the crimes being committed, it’ll all be worth it once his family is so filthy fucking rich that he could spoil you a thousands times over, more than he already does.

Sometimes when he’s with you he doesn’t know what to say and won’t say anything but his actions will make it clear that he just wants you by his side to keep him from going crazy or he’ll cuddle up to you, hoping that you’ll hug him and never let him go until he’s feeling better.

You’re the only one who can bring him comfort, the only one who understands and listens to him, please don’t ever betray him… it would break his heart.

The flames in the darkness that would’ve otherwise lit the way to your place of landing were extinguished by the pelting droplets of rain that came crashing down to the earth from the clouds you currently find yourself descending from. Were it not for the lit pathways of the halls in the castle that face refuge under heavily stoned rooftops, you likely would’ve missed your destination altogether save for the spotting sight of the mass build making up the creature that you had feared could’ve been flying in the same night sky as you, it and its rider stalking you like prey in a hunt.

The sigh of relief that escaped you didn’t go unnoticed, your dragon sounding off low rumbles as it sensed your lessening anxiety. To see Vhagar grounded below you is a sight that you’ll always welcome, although the roar she bellows at the sight of you and Cannibal above her sends back some of the anxiety from before. The massive dragon may not be flying but she is still a dangerous and unpredictable beast, she could choose to pursue you on her own accord if she sees it fit to do so. Cannibal also could instigate a fight between the pair of them, the images of the two dragons clashing against each other and tearing into each other’s flesh, fighting to the death as the earth or the clouds seems to shake below or around them from their heavily weighted movements, comes flashing to your mind.

To ensure your own safety, you choose to fly further out than you’d like, only choosing to order your dragon to land when you feel that you’ve gone a safe enough distance away that he’d, hopefully, be too perturbed by the distance to start anything with Vhagar other than a possible roaring match to assert dominance. The walk will be a feat that most to all would dread in such weather as this but if it meant that both you and the prince Aemond could wake in the morning to find both your dragons still in one piece than it’s a small journey you’re willing to take. It’s not like you’re not already drenched to the core so what’s a little time more spent in the ill-fated weather?

Upon having landed safely, you ensure Cannibal that residence here shall only be temporary, likely within weeks end the two of you can return home. Of course, you could sense the impatience already ticking as the creature snarls before choosing to rest, laying down and curling up slightly, his wings giving shelter to a small portion of his snout. He has little to no tolerance for having to travel and stay places just as he has little tolerance for being used by his rider. These factors you couldn’t blame the creature for, especially seeing as he had likely lived long before anyone resided in the lands he has called his home… who are you or anyone else to expect such a beast to conform and be tamed so quickly and easily without much of a fuss on his part?

“I promise, I will try my best to ensure we leave this place as quickly as possible.” You claim, already walking in the direction of the castle. You yourself didn’t want to be here causing all the more reason not to blame Cannibal for his attitude.

Mud sops up onto your boots as you trudge through the drowning grass that leads to the castle, certain areas being so deeply affected by the rain that you instantly sink nearly knee deep into the sticky substances that almost ground you in place like cement on bricks and stone. At times you feel as though you will get stuck and fear that you will likely die as the mud will sink you deeper into its grasp until there’s nothing left of you above the ground, your body naturally buried, never to be found. What a terrible fate that would be!

As the terrain strengthens to more solid and flat grounds the fight against nature lessens much to your pleasure. When your feet meet cobbled grounds, you are forever thankful to the gods. You let down the hood of your cloak, a weight that you hadn’t had time to fully comprehend being lifted off as the soaked material no longer drapes over your equally soaked head.

In the near distance you see the silhouette of a figure standing just beyond the castle entrance, a flickering torch held in one hand. This figure too, is wearing a cloak in an ill-attempt to prevent themselves from getting drenched by the downpour. Even though they are under the protection of a roof, you can still tell that the rain pelts down upon them as wind drifts the direction of the falling water their way. It takes no fool to know that this person is watching you as you approach, their body staying grounded in one place as you draw ever nearer. You can hear faint mumblings, acknowledging that this person is attempting to speak with you, but it falls short as the wind carries their words away until you are but mere feet away.

Upon having a clearer look of the person in front of you, you realize it is another woman, young and beautiful with her lightly colored hair and equally lightly shaded eyes.

“My name is y/n, princess of Bayasabhad city in the east of Essos. I’m here of behalf of the Great Fathers. I bear a message for the royal family of King’s Landing.”

“I’m Helaena Targaryen, sister-wife to King Aegon II. I’ll direct you to the quarters where my family shall meet with you.”

A/N: a possible series that I have in mind... I have a couple ongoing so I will likely see how this first piece is received before deciding if I'll continue on with it or if I'll drop it and focus on my other WIPs.

The wind on your face slowly began to dry away the streaks and droplets of rain that still clung to your face and dampened your hair as you traveled further to your destination. The feeling was soothing, a complete one-eighty of how your heart currently beat loud and quick beneath your chest, seemingly beating to the extent that it feels as though it could burst through your ribcage and spill out onto the horns and scales belonging to the creature beneath you.

 Riding your dragon had always been enthralling, giving you a sense of liberation that you never could imagine that you’d feel if you hadn’t bonded with him, but circumstances always gave you a sense of dread and uncertainty as well, just as it was giving to you now.

One reason that always caused you distress, especially after bonding with Cannibal was how had you been capable of doing so if you weren’t a Targaryen? You weren’t born into the Targaryen family line…. at least that has been what your family has always told you. But only Targaryens could ride dragons, they are dragonlords. If you aren’t of a dragonlord’s blood than how is it that you currently straddle the wide back of Dragonstone’s largest dragon besides Vhagar? Another issue at hand that always plagued your mind, how had you been able to claim the fearsome creature when so many before you, in fact all who had attempted before you, had been killed by him? Cannibal had a reputation for killing anyone who tried to tame him which is why so many dragonriders have avoided pursuing him. What had been so special about you that the beast below has allowed you mount him?

In regard to the uncertainty as to what your true bloodline is, how you can ride a dragon, and how you managed to claim Cannibal, you pay the questions only enough mind for them to be present in your mind, you know you’ll likely never get any answers to them so why bother asking anyone or why bother letting them rack your mind completely? Even if you could ask, even when you have, no one has given you answers that make any sense and it’s not like Cannibal would be able to answer you either seeing as he is a dragon.

Three dreads that plague your mind, and the most prominent of them, however, could be answered… but only in the most dire of situations. Something that always runs through your mind when you approach Cannibal for any reason is that perhaps dragons are more intelligent than you give them credit for, and he has only allowed you to claim him for a purpose that he sees fit. What is to happen to you once he has seen to the issue at hand that he needs you for? Well,if that is to be the case, you can only imagine that the fate of dragonriders prior who were unfortunate enough to be in his presence will become your fate as well. Cannibal has also shown himself to be rather temperamental, every time you approach you also fear that he could be in a bad mood or could be hungry enough and wish to devour you to satiate a small bit of his hunger or be rid of any interruptions from humans forevermore. The thing you dread most however doesn’t concern any mishaps with Cannibal though, what terrifies you most is the thought that word has gotten out about your claim over the monstrous beast and those brave enough will seek out to destroy you in return for assurance that you can’t fight against them should a war or small feud of any kind blossom.

You’ve thought of who the highest threat to your livelihood would be if people have heard word of your newfound possession. Daemon and Caraxes could be your biggest threat seeing as Daemon is well versed in murdering people and perhaps knows how to control his dragon best of all the Targaryens. Caraxes is also smaller and younger than Cannibal, where Cannibal is reputable in size and desire to feast upon other dragons (hence his name), Caraxes could easily be a threat in accordance to his agility, speed, and knowledgeable rider helping him to attack.

Despite this, who you see as the biggest threat, however, is Aemond and his ride Vhagar. Aemond is known to you as a hotheaded man who can and will use his dragon and training experience to cause chaos should he see it fit for the sake of vengeance or protection, or should he wish to for the sake of fun. Aemond, anyone really, could overpower you easily in a fight should he wish to seek you out as an enemy to himself or to his family, so you fear him, even more than Daemon. What troubles you about Vhagar is her sheer size. She is the only dragon that you are aware of whom is larger than Cannibal. In the regard, Cannibal and Vhagar are more of a match in speed, age, and agility so there’s more of an equal match in that aspect of your dread, but you believe that she could still possibly overpower you and your dragon should Aemond pursue you with her.

Every time you near Cannibal, let alone ride him, you imagine the large dragon and her insane rider appearing out of seemingly nowhere, Vhagar’s jaws open wide in preparation to latch onto Cannibal and take him down. The death wouldn’t be quick for him but for you it could be. If Vhagar were to attack as you’ve imagined she would, then she’d likely swallow you whole as she bites down on Cannibal’s back and neck. That or Aemond would be insane enough to jump from his dragon onto yours, or if you’re on the ground he’d dismount, his sword brandished in his hand, the weapon rising as he prepares to bring it down upon your unfortunate body while you beg and plead for mercy. It would be a horrible death either way, one that you hope you’ll never face.

A/N: this is an intro for a possible series that my mind has conjured up.

Lines had been drawn, lines had been crossed, and hearts had been broken. It’s known from both sides that the rarity of a pogue crossing the lines to support the enemy kooks or become one is even more rare than coming across a mass hoard of gold or a sunken ship. Loyalty is something that is greatly prized and is an unspoken given to those who belong to the poorer side of the islands. For someone to destroy that loyalty by blindsiding and backstabbing those who’ve been there to help through thick and thin is an immense insult and a sure way to ensure mass chaos throughout the entire Outer Banks community. Even if someone lesser known is to cross that line and betray the pogue life and the pogue community, it’s still something that will make waves of gargantuan disgust, mistrust, and even envy to spark amongst those of all middle-class and poor individuals residing on the islands.

Shockingly enough, in recent times, it’s exactly that which has been happening. In mass droves, many pogues have seemingly dropped their pride and broken their unspoken promises to others in order to work amongst the elite class in hopes of one day receiving a life of luxury that everyone secretly harbors in their dreams. Even if it means working alongside conniving liars, thieves, and murderers, so many who once had been pogues, and even to this day are still pogues but now are living in a world of sugar coated lies, are crossing that line and betraying their families and friends in order to, hopefully, get a piece of the large pie that has stemmed from word getting out that the kooks have found and taken the treasures of the Royal Merchant. So many pogues have fooled themselves into believing that should they help the kooks maintain, or heighten, their statuses amongst the rich by obtaining some of the riches of the treasure and handing it to the kooks then maybe they will be looked in a better light and will be given a reward for their services. Even many of those who were known to be steadfast in their ways of being had succumb to the devious thoughts and have chosen to switch sides.

For John B, Kiara, JJ, and Pope this was a nightmare that even they hadn’t foreseen as a possibility of ever happening throughout their time finding and chasing down the treasures of the infamous sunken ship known to all of those living in the OBX areas. But now, having been introduced and thrust into the realities of the growing issues at hand, they’ve realized that “things couldn’t possibly get worse” could truly get worst, so much so that rock bottom seems like heaven compared to the growing flames of hell that seem to increasingly suffocate them and their chances of survival and success at getting rich themselves.
