Wait actually instead of just whatever six pokemon, a pokemon team should just be whatever Pokemon add up to a base stat total of 3,180. That’s equal to a team of just any six fully evolved starters. Then you can make a smaller team out of higher stat legendaries or a bigger team out of slightly lower stat pokemon. The best part is this way you could hypothetically have a pretty great team and still enough room left over that you may as well fill with a caterpie or something, just to waste one more enemy turn. Team mascot who tries their best.
