The problem with people being able to read the books youâve written, is that when they talk to you in person they expect you to say writery things.
I donât know how to explain that my mouth and my fingertips have vastly different vocabularies.

i am drenched in the unforgivable and, when found standing against the tenderness of godâs light, am meek as wicked shadows slither through my thoughts. i am the betrayer, the adversary, the one who has fallen.
(inkstay, feb. word prompt #1)
sort & filter
 Nobody gets a choice.Â
      But here, set the parameters:
What sort of story would you like?Â
a)Â Â Â an adventure
b)Â Â Â love, love
c)Â Â Â a mystery
d)Â Â Â slow horror
Good news!
            You get all four.
But you get to select the protagonists!
   Who will you sentence?
                 Choose:
a)Â Â Â yourself
b)Â Â Â your shadow
c)Â Â Â your âbest friendâ
d)Â Â Â a man you donât know
(Donât choose the man you donât know. You donât know him. He could be smart, or worse, strong.)
    So, the rest are
                all you.
        Please select Character Two:
a)Â Â Â coffee shop woman
b)Â Â Â yoga class man
c)Â Â Â stranger on the streets
Are you happy with your choice?
It wonât really matter, anyway;
youâre not slated to be happy,
you are slated to be in love.
Which brings us to:
        please choose a Difficulty Level:
a) Easy
b) Medium
c) Hard
[Tip: This part is like coffee. There can never be enough cream, and you will get scalded anyway.]
Hm. Poor choice.Â
But there is no good choice, so I supposeÂ
you did well enough.
Just one last question.
                 Choose a Colour:
a) pink
b) blue
I hope you didnât think too hard on that one.
The colour
of heartbreak
does not matter,
just as pink & blue pills
both taste the same.
You
  will soon be
        chalky and stale.
hello friends!
This is the new and improved poetry blog that was formerly @poetic-indirect that will now be dedicated solely to poetry of all kinds, wether written by me or by anyone else. If you had followed me over there, I would love to see you around over here too!
This new blog represents a change in me, and now that Iâm recovering from some very unfortunate incidents, I would like to restart my year long poetry challenge. I will be reposting the few dozen from my other blog at some point, but Iâm really looking forward to wiping my slate clean and starting anew.
Everybody stumbles sometimes, and Iâm glad to have found my feet again.Â
So if you would like to rejoin me on my journey, I welcome you with open arms!
-Han
Here is my new poetry blog if youâre interested! Iâm just getting things set up over there and Iâd love your continued support as I move forward!
My Blog is Moving!
Hi guys!
if you havenât noticed, thereâs been a distinct lack of poetry here, my own or otherwise. There are reasons, but since Iâd prefer not to get in to them here, Iâll make this super easy. I have a new poetry blog!
go follow @hkatpoetry for the continuation of my work! Thank you all for your love and support, and hopefully Iâll see you all over there!
-Han

Passion in Flame
One manâs trash is treasure to another, and one manâs passion could kill his brother.
Because passion is fire, and the strongest have learned: when you play with fire you beg to be burned.
Though sometimes you find, more often than not, âtis the heart of the peers where that hurt is brought.
The spark is enticing, so playful and strong, and urges commitment as it strings you along.
The thing about passion is not that itâs flame, but itâs bound to burn out, and then whoâs to blame?
Once it is gone, only ash will remain inside hollowed out eyes, soon brimming with pain.
And pain brings the tears, but the tears pave the way to brighter tomorrow, should you survive today.
And in the heat of tomorrow, like the rise of the sun, is the birth of a fire as you start a new one.
Flying
I never knew that I had wings until you showed me yours, and until you taught me how to fly, I didnât know that I could soar.
Being up there with the clouds felt so oddly freeing, and so I clung to happiness that had been so often fleeting.
We would race throughout the sky with the moon high at our side, and when our wings would tire out, itâs on the wind weâd ride.
I learned about you, you learned about me, you taught me to love, you let me feel free.
But I would soon realize: the skyâs like a cage, like finding the best of a book with no way to turn page.
But youâve become my savior, and yours Iâve sworn to be, so if I hurdled toward the ground, I know youâd follow me.
I guess knowing the ugly truth is its own, strange kind of hell, but with you I was flying, and so itâs for you I fell.
Our good friend @quietpinetrees has brought his microfiction to tumblr and it is achingly beautiful.
oh this is gorgeous
About Hellos
The first hello was the strangest; a mix of unconscious habit and freshman nerves and the excitement of maybe, just maybe, making a new friend in this strange place.Â
The second hello was shy and subtle, a gossamer touch on thin ice with the fear that speaking too loud could shatter this fragile illusion.
The other hellos were a melting pot of slang and slander and false hate and laughable excuses because when youâre best friends you donât think about pushing each other until youâve already torn each other down
But the last hello, final thoughts in our final hours, saturated with the feelings we wouldnât admit and dripping the words we couldnât say;
Oh, our last hello was our first goodbye.
