friendship fusion is real

people have already pointed out that people are magnetized to max but its also so interesting how he also tries to repel connecting with people no matter how hard he tries they will end up wanting to befriend him. and for a loner character that means so much like max will be deadpan sassy at people's character and theyll still want to stick around him. so basically a cat. max trying to boomerang people away and even his real feelings(grief avoidance) and the world is shaping itself in a way where he's not going to be able to avoid it. using humor as a bandaid is a trait he got from his dad. max is a brutally honest person but i do think also that theyre dishonest to themselves. max internally puts what he feels on a scale and whether its worth adressing or letting it fade in the back. also 'world shaping itself to make you face your regrets'; imagine walking down a street and the shape of the ground expanded upwards in a cone-like-shape just to turn facing you just to stab through you but its completely transparent. but thats just my interpretation of early max theyve definetly have changed but i do think theyre bit closed off or guarding theyre heart/emotions. which i totally get
