this is a blog about my pokemon mystery dungeon OC's and whatever shenanigans i decide they should be up to. you can expect art, comics, and maybe even some miscellaneous ramblings about them and the world they live in.

while this isnt specifically an ask blog, you can still feel free to ask me or my characters anything you'd like! im fine with magic asks, joke asks, and basically anything as long as its appropriate.

Was curious to see how doug would look as a floatzel, so I drew it!

Even though he’s way bigger than he was as a Buizel, he can still fit into his classic hat since his head is mostly the same size. I think he would probably need to get a smaller bracelet though, since he wouldn’t have the same round flipper-arms he had as a buizel.

Demo is the Salazzle (though in some earlier posts I simply called him 'B', because at the time I didn't have any better name ideas) and his Salandit buddy is named Matt.

Demo is a member of the town guild, but he usually decides to accept jobs that involve helping citizens around town rather than exploring Mystery Dungeons. While this may make him seem lazy, the true reason for this is that he simply loves his community and wants his fellow Pokemon to be happy. As for his personality, Demo can be a bit on the snarky side and may seem unamused or disinterested in the antics of his peers, but it's easy for them to see that it's all in good faith and that he truly does care for them. As long as you're chill and respectful, it's very easy to get on Demo's good side. Demo is FtM transgender, which is why he is referred to with he/him pronouns despite Salazzle being an exclusively female Pokemon species. This was a decision for his character that I made entirely out of love for my transgender friends, so I hope everyone enjoys him!

Matt on the other hand isn't part of the guild, nor does he work any job. In fact, he doesn't even own a house! However, this isn't caused by him being down on his luck or unable to hold a job, but instead it's just the lifestyle he prefers. Matt values his simple life of relaxing in the sun and sleeping under the stars, so he's content without having a dedicated living space or many material possessions (but during times where he would need better shelter, such as during storms or other bad weather, the guild does permit him to stay inside momentarily). As for his actual personality, Matt is mostly a calm and down-to-earth Pokemon, but he's definitely got his moments of excitement in certain situations. Matt also has a passion for music, as he loves to play the guitar and sing songs, which occasionally attracts a bit of an audience from the townsfolk.

There's only one thing that Matt loves more than music, and that would be Demo! Demo and Matt have been best friends for years, and they've grown to find much enjoyment and comfort in one another's company. Demo likes to take Matt out to restaurants and to get drinks at the cafe, while Demo takes him to the nicest outdoors spots around town to relax. While the two are great as just friends, Matt has been helpless pining over Demo for a LONG time, which the Salazzle seems to somehow be oblivious to... hopefully he'll get the message before Matt's poor little heart explodes!

As for their movesets, Demo knows Incinerate, Toxic Spikes, Nasty Plot, and Protect, and his ability is fittingly Oblivious (go figure...). Demo doesn't really get too much use out of these moves since he isn't in battle very often, but he's always prepared regardless. Matt's moves are Poison Fang, Ember, Scratch, and Sand Attack, which you may notice are all moves that are learned at lower levels. This is because Matt is pretty much never in combat and doesn't have any money to afford TMs, so he doesn't have much to work with.

sorry it took me so long to answer this!! i've been a little busy lol

i dont have much of a story written for Doug and my other characters, but I can say for sure that they all live in a time set after the events of Super Mystery Dungeon... probably a good decade or two. I like the idea of everyone being able to look back on the events of the prior PMD games and think about how they shaped the world.

Doug has looked up to his town's guild ever since he was a child, and he made it his personal goal to be a part of it. Since the guild doesn't allow children to join, he spent pretty much his entire childhood training and preparing for the day he could finally apply. Most of Doug's childhood consisted of participating in as many classes and extracurricular activities focused on Mystery Dungeon exploration that he was able to sign up for, since he wanted to be sure that he would be ready to join the guild once he was older. Even though this made Doug busy and stressed a lot of the time, he was always able to fall back on his brother Nate for support and companionship whenever he needed it. Eventually, the day came where Doug was finally old enough to join the guild and stand next to his idols, and he's been the happiest Buizel in the world ever since. I do have some more ideas for his backstory floating around my head, but I haven't figured out all the details and I'm too lazy to type it out rn anyway lol...

Of course, any good guild member needs to have a strong moveset! I've put a bit of thought into Doug's moves, and I landed on...
