Second Hand Trauma possibly causing systems.
I have an acquaintance who is working on there thesis for there phd in social work (not sure the specific degree). The topic they are working on is how children can process trauma in media as if they are going through the trauma themselves! it brings an interesting thought around endogenic systems for me of, "what if some of these systems actually have the result of trauma from media they consumed young but its not widely known that this is a phenomenon?" Just an interesting thought that I'm wanting people's input on.
I think it's important to remember that endogenic =/= "I don't remember any trauma therefore I'm endogenic." It's by far most often "I know what my plurality's origins are and they're not the trauma that I remember going through." Most endogenics do have trauma they fully remember and acknowledge, including many forms of second hand trauma. (Including us! Lots of second hand trauma.)
This isn't to dismiss the research. It's just not the explainer for most endogenics. Maybe a small number, as you suggest, some...but not, imho, a significant number.
Oh for sure! It's a big part of what's gotten us to recently look into our biases and opinions around systemhood and plurality! Which has been a lot of work but very rewarding! Being honest we've gone through a few phases. First being us in denial about being a system so we convinced ourselves that all systems were faking then when we finally accepted it those feelings shifted towards non Traumagenic systems and have recently been trying to learn and grow from that which takes time and research!
