I haven’t been to a doctor in ten years because that shit costs money, even though I have serious medical issues that should be monitored.

Many of my coworkers pay a third of their paychecks for health insurance that doesn’t cover anything until they pay ten weeks of pay in a year.

Until 2016 there was not realistically a candidate here that even represented the mildest of social democracy or the welfare state here, and we suffered through decades of wage stagnation, weakened worker protections, and tax cut after tax cut for the rich.

I know things are tough and it’s easy to be swayed by the populist right-wing xenophobia of the Tories but they won’t help you and they never have. After ten years of fucking you they blame all the problems on the welfare state and the EU and immigrants. But only a strong, left-wing party can bring the benefits to the masses. And your best chance is with Labour and Corbyn.

So if you’re voting in the UK today please consider the opportunity you have and make use of it. Save the NHS, rebuild the welfare state, and take steps to limit the damage the rich are doing to you.
