look, i get it.
grace is hot. simon is hot. two hot men together equals major hotness and fireworks of fujoshi/fudanshi/fu-i-love-when-men-fuck-who-cares-about-the-gender-i-identify-with feels and vibes.
but, like, as an aroace person:

i thought grace was aspec-coded. i believe he is. i firmly am certain he is. and so do others. lots of others. lots of aspec others.
so why is he suddenly being shipped with someone from a totally different universe?
not saying crossovers are bad cause, if i'm truly honest, as an acafan who literally studies fandoms for a living, crossovers are fucking cool. fucking rad, even. me loves some good ol' crossover. yum.
i admit it: bloodymary is fucking hot. it's sweet. it's tangy (in a good way, like sourpatch kids).

here's the thing, though: aspec-coded characters always end up being shipped with other characters (from their own media or not) and i'm growing tired of it.
urgh. bleh. groans.
sure, grace could be ace and still want to fuck simon. sure, grace could be aro and still want to be in a romantic relationship with simon. "it's a spectrum! isn't that beautiful?" the voices sing. and, yeah, the voices are right. but the voices don't understand that we do not have a single aspec-coded character that just. stays by themself. period.
who shows that you don't need romance nor sex to feel whole.
to feel human.
why couldn't grace just, i don't know, be besties with rocky? exhale his last breath on erid with rocky's arms around his middle, holding him close, chittering whispers of comfort? why couldn't we be satisfied, satiated with friendship? why, oh why, must we always ship anything and everything that graces this planet (or not, it seems) together?
