Large Mediterranean Home | Sims 2 Lot Download
This large, sprawling Mediterranean home has 5 bedrooms, a pool, and a beautifully manicured yard. It would make a beautiful vacation home for your more affluent sims, though, with landscaping like this, you may want them to live here full-time!

This Sims 2 lot has been built based on real houseplans. This is why the kitchen is more in the central part of the house and not up against an exterior wall. Don’t worry though, this home has plenty of natural light!
All EPs and SPs are required for this lot. I have also used a couple pieces of CC (upper cabinets in the kitchen and a decorative washer and dryer in the mudroom/laundry). You do not have to install them if you don’t want to, however. Here’s what the back of the lot looks like:
This Sims 2 lot was quite challenging to put a roof on and you will notice that there is a small line along the top of a couple of the circular roofs at the front where the walls bleeds through. These rooms have the same pitch as the round roofs in the back, but those don’t have the same trouble with the bleeding wall. *If you know how to make those circular roofs bleed through the walls when they are set to 35 degree pitch please let me know and I will attempt to fix it.*
Now, let’s take a look at that floorplan, shall we? I originally built this lot back in 2007 or 2008, but there were some issues with certain parts of the home not being functional due to all the angles. Just recently I have taken the liberty of updating and changing the houseplans to make them more playable for the Sims 2, while keeping the same feel as the original. My motto for this build: when in doubt turn those odd-shaped rooms into closets! 🤣
First floor: Counterclockwise from top left: Master suit with walk-in-closet, additional closet space, and adjoining bathroom, bedroom 2 with adjoining bathroom, dining room, kitchen, mudroom/laundry/half- bath, garage, bedroom 3, Jack-and Jill bathroom, bedroom 4, another bathroom, living room 1 (with fireplace), breakfast nook, living room 2 (with piano). The back patio features an outdoor kitchen.
Second floor: Bonus room with bathroom. No bathroom was called for in the original plans up here, but you can never have too many bathrooms in a home that houses lots of sims! This room could either be an office, playroom, or even an extra bedroom.
I put only a few pieces of furniture in this build, mostly to give you an idea of what each room is supposed to be. I tried doing some decorating but that proved to be more time-consuming than I wanted. And since my official job title isn’t “sims 2 lot builder”, well, I think you can see where I’m going... 😉
You will most likely need to use the ‘set45degreeangleofrotation’ cheat to put some things on the diagonal. I would also recommend the ‘setquartertileplacement’ cheat. I used the ‘snapobjectstogrid’ cheat to place several of the counters in the kitchen, so if you wish to re-decorate you will need to use those. This kitchen should still have at least a couple of counters that are usable for preparing food on, as you can see below to the far left.
I also took a little time to gussy up the master bathroom. Just look at all that stone! (I think a large area rug might be in order!)
So, in the absence of interior pictures, let’s tour the outside!
Front yard: Gardens are a significant part of most Mediterranean-style homes, and I definitely wanted that to be the case here. Each of the flowerbeds across the front of the lot has been lovingly hand-crafted.
Did you know you could make a more Mediterranean-style fence by combining the iron fence and the Quaint half-wall? Build a foundation and place the iron fence along that, then remove the foundation and build the half-wall under it. Easy-peasy! I love how it looks when paired with the White Royal Courtyard Fencing. Disclaimer: I may have a default replacement texture for this fence in my game. I have no idea where it came from, or even that it was there until I compared my screenshots to the thumbnail texture in my game. Perhaps this is something EA updated in one of the later EPs? If not, and if someone knows where this beautiful replacement came from, please let me know and I will credit them.
Back yard/patio: Hot, dry summers call for a refreshing dip in the pool!
And a relaxing seat in the shade.
Let’s take a closer look at that far corner again. The summer kitchen is opposite the chimney.
I left this part of the patio open. You could put a hot-tub there, or build a pagoda out of beams to shade you while barbecuing, or just leave it open--it’s completely up to you!

All EPs and SPs are required.
I’ve run this home through the Lot Compressor and the Lot Cleaner so any random references to sims that aren’t there should be removed. I also added a spiffy custom thumbnail so it has even more curb appeal in your Lots and Houses bin. 😁
*I highly recommend that you have the PerfectPlants mod from TwoJeffs*
This home has only a couple pieces of CC. Both of these can easily be replaced or omitted if you don’t want them though. CC List (Included): -Maxis Match Wall Cabinets by CTNutmegger at ModtheSims -LG Dryer & Washer Machine by Fresh-Prince at ModtheSims (If you want a functional version try this set by MustLuvCats instead.)
I ALWAYS recommend using the Sims 2 Clean Pack installer to install lot files.
