COZY HOME LIGHTING MOD

Cozy Home is a lighting mod for the Sims 2 that was borne out of experimenting with different lighting mods and cherry-picking which features I liked in all of them, including sims 2 vanilla lighting. 

The result is a lighting mod built from the ground-up from vanilla Maxis files and slowly adding in things I liked from other lighting mods.

GoS reupload time #3: this was my Christmas in July 2012 gift to Nabila. This one's got some wooden flooring, retextures of some Sims in Paris cabinets, some clothing, some coins converted from Skyrim (these have probably been done better by tons of other people since) and some cushion retextures (apparently I had a lot more free time back then lmao). There's also some sand terrain paints I have no memory of creating but they're in there too. All meshes are included, and I believe the model sim for the dresses is included too as a bonus.

NOTE: THIS IS OLD CC. The file names are full of unnecessary punctuation such as brackets, dashes and spaces (which was the style at the time). You're probably going to want to remove all of that for optimal file loading times (would recommend a bulk file rename tool). One day I'll get around to replacing the uploaded files but today is not that day.

5 new recolors for cute nightie conversion shared recently by @lucilla-sims here. I attempted to make it look less s4 by replacing original lace with something more subtle ;) I also toned down fabric folds in the belly area.

As seen in my post a couple of days ago I couldn't find any nice recolors of the BG Exploding Dragon Dining Table that I really liked, so I made my own!

I also made a mesh edit to remove the flower thingies of the legs and moved the legs a bit closer. The edit is completely optional, the recolors work fine without the mesh edit. You can see the comparison below.

There are 10 recolors: 5 plain and 5 decorated. The painted parts are from various museum and antique shop websites. Some of them are Chinese, some Japanese.

3t2 Red Hot Dress (requested by anon)

This one is from the Katy Perry sp (surprising, I know). AF only, has all morphs. There's some clipping with the legs, but I tried my best. I made 5 recolors, but here's the PSD for recoloring. I made these for C&K's Extended Material Shader, so it's recommended (the shine looks a bit different without it). Shoes are by Sentate :)

SimPE for Mac now exists! It is a Wine wrapper around the Windows SimPE 0.8.2.11, patched for Mac file paths, loading objects and TXTR files from the Stuff Packs Huge Lunatic extracted, if they are installed in BonVoyage/TSData/Res/Catalog/Bins. Fixed Wine weirdness of not properly displaying the Resource List. Should work on both Intel and M series Macs, but is dependent on Rosetta on Apple M series.

Like all Wine apps, your local hard drive will be the Z drive in the open and save file menus. To get to your Sims 2 folder, you click Z>Users>yourusername>Library>Containers>com.aspyr.sims2.appstore>Data>Library>Application Support>Aspyr>The Sims 2.

It is not uploaded to MTS, because it exceeds the maximum file size for upload. I am working on that. The wine wrapper makes this a large app. Like 1.2 gig. I went through becoming an official Apple developer and getting the app approved, so MacOS won't complain and refuse to run it. Hi Everybody!

Today I'm very happy to bring you an update on this kitchen countertop. If you've been following me for a while, you might remember when I posted the first version (here), which was my first time trying to recolor this object. I remember having a lot of difficulty and giving up once, then trying again. The result at the time was wonderful for me, but with time and experience gained in recoloring, I started noticing imperfections that didn't bother me before.

Today, while redoing this kitchen countertop, I'm very happy with my progress. I believe I still need to learn much more, but we're moving in the right direction. This version has 5 options. I'll also leave links to the accessories for this item that make the kitchen even more complete, and I'm sure you'll love the result.

GoS reupload time #2: Rugs! 40 of them! I think I made these for one of the treasure hunts back in... 2012? It was a very long time ago. Some of these I actually still use a ton to this day, a couple of them of them... aren't what I'd go for now but hopefully there's something for everyone in there. There's two meshes, one is repo'd to the other (I think the smaller one is the main mesh) and they're both included.

The Apartment Life heavy metal barstool and dining chair are another eyesore set in the game: they look promisingly grungy, but IMO end up too cartoony for good dive bar vibes. So I've made an alternative!

Something new from last expansion pack :) this time elegant EP21 Night Dress :) transparency of laces made me scream... (lace was all black in milkshape... in the game it looked like something shiny...) After several hours of hand whitening of normals, I was finally satisfied with the result. As with all long dresses, unfortunately there is clipping at the legs… I hope you like it this way. This time I converted them only for adults, because I thought they were too spicy for teens 😅

sadly GOS is now gone which is a huge loss. gos hosted lots of events over the years and brought so much content along with it. for years it was not as active, which is a shame, and now its no longer here.

Uldum is the best Maxis rug, don't @ me! nathieke turned me onto a way of swatching stuff I hadn't thought before and although I had to extract the images for this set it will be very handy in the future. woo. \^_^/ So yeah, 50 more Uldum rug recolours.. sourced from all over the place, honestly. threadless, spoonflower, Jessica Roux, some Japanese fabric stores on Etsy... someone's fanart of the Sleep Token logo. Random Pokemon art off pinterest I couldn't source. Random stuff that's just been chilling with some indecipherable name on my hard drive.

Made this for myself, but figured someone would want to use it as well. This edit is for the Regular Version, though I have no issues on making an edit for the Pay Version too.

With this edit, children can now throw parties (BHAVs "borrowed" from @belladovah's mod) in general and those parties can be hosted in community lots (thanks to Midge's tutorial here) as well. As for children, besides Maxis parties, Pool Parties (I think they were enabled for all ages actually) and Slumber Parties have also been made available for them.

Of course, my edit will conflict with Simler's original mod - remove his package and replace it with mine.
