I stole PF's previews, sorry not sorry hehe. All the CEP necessary and linked in this post (apart from HL's one) are included, but hafiseazale's links contain a lot more CEPs, which I recommend you grab! omg english.exe stopped working

Brave New Simlandia (AL): defaulted with this painting by James Stark and one texture from PF (RC02_Nolde). This default and recolors (+frames) are merged into one single file, I did that because it would be confusing to explain which files are what and which are necessary, sorry! (I had to repo frames in the recs and such, so if any other recs are merged in this list, it is because of that). It seems hafiseazale has made two different CEP-extras for this painting, I'm using the one that is repo'd to the "paintingdancer" and my recolors (included in my default) won't work for the other one. I included this CEP-extra in the download, place it in your CEP-extra folder in documents, there is no programfile file for this one.

A Stroke D'Simvo (NL): defaulted using their RCs + one texture by Franz Kline. I fixed a small mistake on one of PF's recs. No CEP-extra needed.

The Perfect Cat (PETS): defaulted using RC1+RC2 from PF. The default includes a frame recolor repo'd to the default (since the CEP-extra makes them two different subsets). RC3+RC4 didn't need to be remade to work with the CEP-extra but I removed the mipmaps and resized them (512x512 -> 256x256). CEP-extra by hafiseazale required, direct link here.

Horse Bild/Bild YinYang (IKEA): defaulted using RC2 from PF. RC1 (included) is already compatible with Hugelunatic's CEP-extra. I removed the mipmaps.

Stiller Life (K&B): all 4 recs have been remade to be compatible with the CEP-extra by hafiseazale (direct link), I resized the textures: 512x512 -> 256x256.

How Eloquent (AL): PF's default has been turned into a recolor, requires hafiseazale's CEP-extra (direct link). I resized the texture, 1024x1024 -> 512x512.

Downhill Snowmanning (HOLIDAY): remade to work with hafiseazale's CEP-extra (direct link).

Rainy Day Main Street (BG): turned PF's recolor into a default. No cep-extra needed, but hafiseazale has made a CEP-extra for it (direct link).

Opus By Rose Grace Wise (OFB): remade to be compatible with hafiseazale's CEP-extra (direct link).

Spherical Splendor (BG): updated to be compatible with hafiseazale's CEP-extra (direct link). I also fixed a tiny tiny color bleed on one of the textures.

Two Dogs And Olive (NL): didn't need to be remade since there is no CEP-extra for it out there. I removed mipmaps and merged the recs. If you want them separate, grab them from PF's original download.

View From A Veranda (K&B): remade to be compatible with the CEP-extra by hafiseazale (direct link). I resized them, 512x512 -> 256x256.

The Stodgy Mrs Badger (PETS): remade to be compatible with hafiseazale's CEP-extra, direct link. These recs are merged in one file, sorry.

If any of my linked files above are wrong, let me know. The necessary CEPs are, like I said at the top of this post, included (with the exception of HL's one).

I didn't include the recolors for "Winter Blossom", "Open Wall Fan" nor the default meshes PF made. If you want them, grab them here! (not sure if the defaults are compatible with CEP-extras?)

Remember you can only have one default per item, so if you already have any defaults defaulting the same paintings as I did here, you have to delete them before installing my default files. Everything has been compressed to reduce file size and no mipmaps. You can (most of the time) choose between merged and separate files. The CEP is required, and the necessary CEP-extras are included (but not HL's one). Let me know if I screwed up anywhere!

Isn't it weird, Sims 2 being over 20 years old and someone has yet to make a begonia plant? Or at least I've never seen one. That's why, when I stumbled upon this download from @jacky93sims I knew what I had to do!

I extracted the plant and made a new object of it. I gave it a random GUID (meaning it won't clash with Jacky's version) but if you stumble upon any conflict, let me know. I edited the texture and fixed some small things on the uv-map. It's quartertile-enabled, placable on tables and it has two subsets. Two recolors are included. My version does not require the ts4shadow file, it's using one of the generic shadow textures from the basegame. There is also a second version without the pot (this object is repo'd to the one with pot) so you can use it with other pots as well.

Polycount: 886 / 600 (potless)

Texture: 512x512

Compressed, no mipmaps and as usual you can choose between separate or merged recolors. Do let me know if anything is wonky.

Edit 2026-08-17: please re-download! the potless begonia (v2) was not placable on pots, but it has been fixed :-)

Partially Lost British BBC "Newsround Showbiz" Will Wright Interview Segment about new features of The Sims 2

Partially Lost because we do know what questions the interviewer asks. But we don't have the actual footage. Or probably it is somewhere out there. I'm sure someone recorded every episode. Anyways we do know what was said in the segment because there's a transcript on the official website that's still up.

Lost German 3sat Broadcast About The Sims 2 Beta:

This took place in Fall of 2003. Around September. It aired twice on the German documentary station called 3sat. The first time I'm Not entirely sure on. The 3sat archives from 2003 list The Sims 2 in a "Games Convention" report that took place on the 25th of August in 2003 though it's unclear if it really is this clip or if it's the same Jennifer-Ernie-Jessica love square that's pretty infamous for grilling Jennifer in the hottub.

The second airing took place on the 26th September 2003. This broadcast is infamous for being one of the only Sims 2 Beta playthroughs to feature exclusive and unique differences to the retail version of the game. It showcases a family and a house that was used during promotion.

Theres also mentions of a few showcases of The Sims on Console that happened in multiple gaming magazines from 3sat but apparently those haven't been archived either sadly.

Lost Swedish "Kontroll" on SVT 2 Broadcasts Potentially About The Sims 2:

On the Official Swedish Sims 2 Website there was an announcement that a Gaming Magazine would air on March 15th 2004 for 12 weeks every Monday. Apparently it was broadcast on the Swedish channel "SVT 2". The text does not go into detail what relations it has to The Sims or if it was even featured on it. Though it probably did otherwise it wouldn't have an announcement on The Sims™ Website. Anyways no screenshots nor footage exist from The Sims segments from what I could find.

The first of the 12 episodes can be found on YouTube. That doesn't have a Sims segment in it. The other 11 episodes, where a Sims segment could probably be, seem to still be lost as of now.

Lost French "France 5" Special About The Sims

According to a few French fanwebsites it was broadcast on May 27th in 2005. It was speculated to be about the development and history of The Sims 1 and The Sims 2 and may have showed some insights and behind-the-scenes of creating the game. No screenshots of this exist to my knowledge.

I have so many edits to share and Idk where to start, so, why not start with the bare minimum a stove?

This is the halo stove from pet stories (from here), but with clear glass! Meant to be used alongside @stinkyunicorn's clear glass defaults and slig's clear windows. This is how it originally looked:

Other edits I know of are @shastakiss' cottage build + roof-thingies, @dramallamadingdang's manor house table and @tvickiesims holy smoke stairs.
