I'm a tad upset Thunderbolt didn’t get to have her time in the comicverse, so I designed a pops for her and might be writing a short something?

It finally happened, my good ‘ole trusty copy of Photoshop 7 has crapped the bed.  I’ve used it on a number of computers since I was 15.  Keep in mind that was 19 years ago, so I am both old and heartbroken haha.  Does anyone have some modern affordable alternatives they use and can recommend?  Don’t really see the point in doling out huge cash subscription services... one time purchases would be nice.  I know there are lists going around, but having not used any other programs in years didn’t know if there was a real, hardy app/software that people generally liked.  Thanks in advance!  Going to go cry in a corner now.
