OG!Cale is cursed too?
Now that I think about it, Cale(OG!KRS) shares the curse with White star because their souls touched when WS was reincarnating right?
This curse makes the bearer loose everything they ever cherished and we can see what happened to OG!KRS...
Now, take a deep breath and look at OG!CALE's life....Lost his mother, neglected by his father, his family feels uncomfortable around him,Ron left him without saying goodbye, His own territory's people hate him, The county was ruined, he was the lone survivor, finds out his mother's ancient power was taken by the one who murdered his family and he is only able to find peace and truly live after he leaves the world which for OG!KRS....was the factor that broke his curse!
And this is not that farfetched when you realise that WS's current body is most likely from a Thames, Cale is aa thames, They are the same age, and he most likely exchanged bodies with his soul cousin.
There must be a connection so what if it has something to do with them sharing the same blood???
(This just popped into my head and I'm open to a discussion anytime.)
Tbh I don't think so. The curse impacts directly on the soul, and og!Cale, who has never came into contact with ws's soul, is not cursed.
The nature of the curse is that 'anything you cherish will perish'.
Before the war, og!Cale never had to see everything he loved turned to ash the way og!krs did.
Jour is an exception, but she died by her own choice, while krs's parents died in an accident outside of all of their control. The nature of these two incidents are not the same.
While the Henituse family is awkward and distant from og!Cale, his love doesn't bring them death the way krs's did to his parents. They were distant from him, sure, but og!Cale still loved them then, and they were all fine.
And when the war started, og!Cale lost everything, but I don't think it's because of the curse. Because everyone else lost everything too. His case just stood out because he is important to the story. The Henituse family died not because of og!Cale's supposed 'curse', but because they were the lord of the territory (which makes them all prime targets tbh), and their deaths are required for the White Star to take control of the Northeast.
Simply put, they were just collateral damages.
In krs's case, the curse surgically targets every single person in his life he has ever felt love to, and either kills them all off within a couple of years, or makes it so that he cannot love them anymore.
I'm not going to talk about krs's life after the Cataclysm, because the 'collateral damage' argument can be used here as well. I'm just going to talk about his life before that.
Og!Cale grew up lonely bc he actively pushed everyone away. Let's not dismiss the man's sincere attempt at being the best version of a bastard he could be, yeah? He could have friends if he so chooses - Eric seems to be very willing - but at every point he chooses to push everyone away, because he thinks being a trash will help Basen not be bullied.
Krs has no such choice. He grew up lonely because everyone he is close to either move away, transfer, died, or turn into such monsters that krs can no longer love them anymore. Even if he wants to have friends, he wouldn't be able to, because inevitably something will happen to close off that avenue.
I'm clunky with words and maybe this post doesn't explain things as well as I wish it to be, but basically my opinion is that:
No, I don't think og!Cale has the curse.
From what I have translated after reading your reblog is that "Everything that happened to Og Cale is a coincidence and that every incident in his life is just caused by his own problems" Which I think is incredibly false.
First off I don't think that Jour's death can be termed as simple and result of her own choices. She was a hunter and no matter how weak her body would be she still must have inherited those genes from her family ( Talking about the soul here) . So let's regard this as the same way we regard Dumbledore's death in Harry Potter. A Nobel sacrifice for her own people and the last achievable decision she could think of at the very end . And a calculated decision.
In a way this was also a calculated move by the GOD because in the end Og Cale's body was chosen just as Jour had predicted. That means GOD must be aware what kind of decision Jour would take after using her AP. In a way we could call it fate.
Now if we look by what you are saying is that "It was Og Cale's actions that failed him". Well the same is true for KRS. KRS was introverted and didn't want to attach himself to anyone either a friend or a lover and that's why he was alone his whole life ( Mind you, KRS, when in his own body wasn't aware of the fact that he was cursed and thus had no other reason to not to talk to people. Even CJS lost everything but in the SS1 we see that he was somewhat friendly. It's just their respective personality nothing to argue about but we could see the difference. And the reason KRS is able to talk to so many people in the TBOAH world is because of his position as the Count's son.)
That's why I agree with the OP here. We already know that the three of them were connected somehow that's why GOD chose Og Cale in the first place.
So him being cursed as well would make more sense than any other rag tag idea thrown by the author.
