I'm looking back at the marketing and promotion of the show before its release. Now it is obvious that at first they tried to sell this season only through orgasmic convulsions and moans performed by an insanely objectified Sam Reid as Lestat, but it clearly failed, because it simply didn't make sense, there was no intellectual or emotional component to it. So at the end, they included an interview with Assad and Eric, with a fanservice that I haven't seen in years. This fanservice was like a battering ram charging right in your face.

Now I take Assad's words that he treats Eric like a grandfather, and Eric's words that he doesn't like touching, as a cry for fucking help.

Did this happen during the release of season 2? No. Did the writers rant to the public about how brilliant the script was and that you needed to watch the episodes several times to UNDERSTAND all the genius? No. And thanks, it's clear to me from the first viewing that this is shit. Did they feed youtubers exclusive material and communication with the actors, as long as they said only good things about this season? There was none of this because it wasn't needed for season 2. When a story is well done, it speaks for itself, it doesn't need crutches in the form of well-fed, unprofessional (?) interviewers, excuses in public space, and an insane amount of fanservice. They just couldn't sell this thing without the huge fanbase of the devil's minion. They didn't want to lose such a large chunk of audience, so they chose to lie to our faces and force the actors to do the same.

And people who sincerely believe that the actors could have made a difference, WAKE UP. Actors are hired workers, not co-authors of projects, they cannot make key changes to the plot. "They agreed to it, it can't be that bad." No, the whole season has come out, and it's so bad that I couldn't even dream about it in a nightmare. Maybe the actors signed the contract before they got the script, I guess that's how it happened. They can't jump off this shitty train, they can't honestly say in public that it's all shit, because they're the faces of this show, and the show needs to be sold. It's pointless to rely on what the actors say in interviews. None of this matters, because it has nothing to do with the actual plot of the show.

(Even George Martin (yes, I watch HoTD too), the literal creator and the author of those books, is unable to influence the showrunners, he cannot revoke the copyright due to the contract, while the showrunners call him "just one fan who didn't like it" and continue to shoot their fanfic. Martin is literally the author of the world, and he can't change anything because he's bound by a contract.)

What do you want from the cast? Stop shifting the responsibility.

I just hope that the actors have only signed for season 3. Assad is great, he's the best Armand I could ever dream of, but I don't want this show to be renewed for season 4. I just don't trust these people to touch TVA and the story of the devil's minion with their hands, they literally destroyed everything in season 3 and there's nothing left to build on these ruins.
