One of the two bills approved by the Knesset, with a 92-10 majority, legislates that Unrwa will no “longer operate any institution, provide any service, or conduct any activity, whether directly or indirectly” within the territory controlled by Israel. This includes the Palestinian territories occupied since 1967, where almost three million Palestinians are registered as refugees, and hundreds of thousands are beneficiaries of life-sustaining services. The second bill abrogates the 1967 agreement between the United Nations and Israel, which allowed Unrwa to extend its services within the occupied Palestinian territories, with Israel committing to facilitating the agency’s work. This measure also strips Unrwa of its diplomatic immunity. Attacks on Unrwa have multiplied during the last decades, reaching unprecedented intensity after 7 October, with more than 230 staff killed in Israeli strikes. The ultimate objective of Israel’s campaigns to erase Unrwa has always been to erase the international legal protections in which the United Nations has enshrined the Palestinian right of return to the lands from which they have been expelled.

In effect, what the laws ultimately do is to translate Israel’s genocidal intent into national law. It is not a matter of individuals with high-rank positions, or chains of command explicitly articulating and implementing the intent to destroy Palestinians as a group. With the new laws, it is the supreme “democratic” organ governing the state of Israel which has voted in favour of directly contributing to settler-colonial expansion and genocide by eradicating the main institution that keeps Gaza Palestinians alive.

these are two art posts i've made (granted the second one is a shitpost but its also sad that a shitpost got more engagement than an actual drawing. Not to mention, even when I do get a lot of engagement its still a horrid ratio

and the only fucking reason I got that many reblogs is because my friend @moderndaymadscientist took it upon themselves to reblog it multiple times. They do this even if its something they wouldn't normally have on their blog. Maybe take a note and do what they do; reblog your friend's art. I'm not saying you have to reblog something I made 40 times but it can be really helpful to reblog it just once. Likes don't do anything because it doesn't show a post to anyone else it just sits there because even though likes are public people on here don't look at them so it does nothing. To reiterate, I shouldn't be seeing these ratios on my art posts and its main reason I barely post my art on here anymore. Its discouraging to artists to see that something they worked for hours or even days on get so little reblogs. Its not like I haven't been vocal about this before either, it literally says it on my pinned post, first thing.

and yes I'm aware ppl will see the font and won't take it seriously but that's the point, I wanted it to be funny, I don't want to have to be aggressive about it because that turns people away most of the time. However I can understand if maybe you don't want something on your blog but then you can just, not engage at all, its that easy. I also know that some people are new to Tumblr and don't know how it works, and its not their fault. We as the people who have been here longer though, should be teaching them that reblogs are better than likes. It not just the community's fault though, it is the site's as well; the algorithm doesn't show things you hit like on to other people so the only choice is to reblog things.

TLDR: Reblogs are better than likes because it can show a post to other people and spread it around. If you don't want to reblog something than don't engage at all. It doesn't take that long to reblog a post though and it helps ppl on here out, especially artists.
