every time i see a post about not using chatgpt or other LLMs for work/school that boils down to 'convenience is morally wrong and desiring it degrades the entire human race' rather than 'these things fabricate details and are not reliable tools for synthesizing information' i lose another year off of my life
Really I don’t use them for anything I do because they don’t know shit about electronics, I kept asking it questions with increasingly specific constraints and it couldn’t figure out what the fuck I wanted, it just kept giving me calculus and extremely convoluted wiring instructions. I tried for hours with no luck and then gave up, did a little research into a chip that generates a reference voltage and finally conceived the circuit I wanted.
Dead simple, I just wanted a circuit that would spit out a voltage reading proportional to a specific voltage range, in this case about 0-4v from 63-89v. Now I can have my battery state of charge displayed by an analog panel meter.
