okay so for those of you who are unfamiliar with Tasmyn Muir’s novel, the general pitch is that it’s about lesbian necromancers in space, and if that doesn’t sell you on this book, I don’t know what you’re doing in the CQL/MDZS fandom either
but what you need to know about Gideon the Ninth worldbuilding is that the Necrolord Prime needs new Lyctors, and the necromantic scions of the Nine Houses are called to the same planet to compete for Lyctorhood, a process that begins with mystery and devolves into murder. All necromancers are accompanied by their cavaliers, who are their sword hands, their bodyguards, their confidants, their soulmates.
