As A Lonely Phoenix Grieves
I've seen the monsters hiding, Behind their sheets of glass, Leading sightless sheep to slaughter, From atop their thrones of brass. I wish I chewed the gristled fat, I wish I drank the juice, But the lies are hard to swallow, When your swinging from a noose. I can't unsee the things I've seen! Nightmares haunt my dreams! Of a prison with no walls, Built of disregarded screams. Inside the herd is dying, As a lonely Phoenix grieves, But you have no such visions, Of our tomb beneath the thieves. -Phoenix
